About Cathie

Cathie is a global offshore engineering consultancy, delivering geoscience, geotechnical and geospatial solutions to offshore renewable energy and infrastructure projects, with teams across the UK and Europe.

We combine technical excellence with a collaborative and pragmatic approach, helping clients deliver some of the world's most ambitious offshore energy developments.

About the Position

This is a key role responsible for leading the day-to-day coordination and continual improvement of Cathie's Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental activities across our international business. Reporting to the Group QHSE Manager, you'll work with colleagues across the UK, France, Belgium and Italy to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement and promote a positive safety culture.

While the role includes responsibility for management systems, audits and compliance activities, it is also a hands-on operational position. You'll be actively involved in supporting office-based health and safety, hybrid and remote working arrangements, mandatory training programmes, risk assessments, incident management and employee wellbeing initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of a broad QHSE remit within an established international engineering consultancy. English is the primary business language at Cathie; therefore, professional proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.

This Role Could Suit Someone Who...

  • Enjoys balancing operational improvement with practical day-to-day delivery
  • Likes working with people and influencing positive behaviours
  • Takes a pragmatic approach to health, safety and compliance
  • Is confident building relationships with employees, managers and leadership teams
  • Enjoys working across multiple countries, cultures and business functions
  • Wants to play a visible role in strengthening safety culture across an international organisation

You Will

  • Coordinate and support Cathie's Integrated Management System across the Group
  • Lead internal audit programmes and support external certification audits
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Provide practical day-to-day health and safety support across office, hybrid and remote working environments
  • Coordinate workplace risk assessments, DSE assessments and office inspections
  • Oversee mandatory training requirements and support training compliance across all entities
  • Support incident reporting, investigations and corrective action management
  • Monitor QHSE performance and prepare management reporting and KPI analysis
  • Maintain QHSE policies, procedures and guidance documentation
  • Support emergency preparedness activities and business continuity initiatives
  • Work closely with operational, engineering, HR and business support teams to promote best practice
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen compliance, safety culture and business performance
  • Act as a key point of contact for auditors, certification bodies, training providers and regulatory stakeholders

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a QHSE, Health & Safety, Compliance or Management Systems role
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Experience supporting or leading internal and external audits
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
  • Experience undertaking or coordinating risk assessments and investigations
  • Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across a fast-paced international business
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent

Nice to have: NEBOSH Diploma, ISO Lead Auditor qualification, experience within engineering, consultancy or professional services, knowledge of EcoVadis, and experience operating across multiple countries.

Why Join Us?

You'll join a collaborative international business where QHSE is recognised as a critical part of operational excellence. This role provides the opportunity to make a visible impact across the organisation, working with teams in multiple countries while helping shape how we approach quality, health, safety and environmental performance.

Key Benefits Include

  • Competitive salary and performance-related bonus
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
  • Private healthcare and wellbeing support
  • Enhanced pension and benefits package
  • Ongoing professional development and training
  • International exposure across multiple European operations
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to business improvement, employee wellbeing and organisational success
