Group Risk Manager

Is this job info correct?

Senior Group Risk & Employee Benefits Consultant

Location: Fully Remote

Salary: Up to £75,000 + Uncapped Commission

OTE: £250,000 - £300,000

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

UK Staffing Group are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a highly successful and rapidly growing insurance brokerage to appoint a Senior Group Risk & Employee Benefits Consultant.

This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for an experienced Group Risk professional who wants to take their career and earning potential to the next level.

The business has an established and highly successful protection operation, a strong client base and an extensive network generating opportunities. However, Employee Benefits and Group Risk represent a significant untapped area of the business, creating a substantial opportunity for the successful individual to develop new revenue streams and build something with genuine long-term potential.

This is not a role where you'll simply inherit an existing desk and be expected to manage renewals.

The business is creating the opportunity for a specialist to come in, utilise their expertise and develop a new area of the proposition from the ground up, with access to existing client relationships, warm opportunities and a wider network of potential business.

And importantly, the business is prepared to reward success.

With a basic salary of up to £75,000 and uncapped earning potential of £250,000-£300,000 OTE, this is an opportunity for someone commercially driven to have a genuine level of control over their earnings.

The Opportunity

As the Senior Group Risk & Employee Benefits Consultant, you'll become a key specialist within the business, advising SME and corporate clients across:

  • Group Life Assurance
  • Group Income Protection
  • Group Critical Illness
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Wider Employee Benefits

You'll have the freedom to use your technical expertise and commercial experience to identify opportunities, develop relationships, advise clients and convert business.

A particularly attractive aspect of the role is the amount of untapped opportunity already sitting within the business.

The brokerage currently has a significant number of client relationships and referral opportunities, but Employee Benefits is an area they have not historically maximised.

This means you're not being asked to walk into a saturated market and compete for every piece of business.

You'll have the opportunity to open up a completely new revenue stream, leveraging relationships that already exist alongside developing your own network and generating new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow the Group Risk and Employee Benefits proposition
  • Advise SME and corporate clients on Group Risk and Employee Benefits solutions
  • Provide specialist advice across Group Life, Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness
  • Advise on PMI and wider employee benefits where appropriate
  • Identify opportunities within existing client relationships and referral networks
  • Develop new business through self-generated activity and warm opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers
  • Conduct detailed fact-finds and client needs analysis
  • Source and compare solutions from a panel of leading insurers
  • Prepare tailored recommendations and client reports
  • Manage the sales process from initial opportunity through to completion
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Manage and retain client relationships, identifying further opportunities for growth
  • Work closely with insurers and internal teams to ensure effective implementation
  • Provide technical Group Risk and Employee Benefits expertise across the wider business
  • Share market knowledge and insight to help shape the future proposition
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of this newly established area of the business

About You

We're looking for an experienced Group Risk or Employee Benefits professional with a strong technical understanding and a genuine commercial mindset.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience advising on Group Risk products
  • Strong knowledge of Group Life, Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness
  • Experience within an insurance broker, intermediary or employee benefits consultancy
  • A proven track record of developing and converting business
  • Strong client relationship and consultative sales skills
  • Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
  • The ability to identify commercial opportunities and turn them into revenue
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial approach
  • The motivation to build something rather than simply inherit an established book

Experience with PMI and wider Employee Benefits would be advantageous but is not essential.

We're particularly interested in professionals who are currently working in Group Risk, Employee Benefits, Corporate Benefits or Health & Benefits and who feel their current role doesn't give them the earning potential or commercial freedom they could achieve elsewhere.

What's On Offer

  • Basic salary up to £75,000
  • Uncapped commission
  • £250,000-£300,000 OTE
  • Fully remote working
  • Access to warm opportunities through an established client and referral network
  • Significant untapped Employee Benefits and Group Risk opportunity
  • Opportunity to develop a completely new revenue stream within an established brokerage
  • Autonomy and genuine commercial ownership
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing development
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Monthly and quarterly incentives
  • European city break rewards
  • Regular social events
  • Long-term career progression

Why Join?

This is a rare opportunity to join an established and successful insurance business at the point where it is opening up a completely new area of growth. The business already has the infrastructure, reputation, relationships and client network in place.

What it hasn't previously had is a dedicated specialist focused on maximising the opportunity within Group Risk and Employee Benefits.

That's where you come in.

You'll have the opportunity to become the subject matter expert and driving force behind this area, with the autonomy to develop relationships, identify opportunities and build a significant book of business.

There is no requirement to manage a team. Instead, this is about being the expert, winning business and being rewarded accordingly.

With a salary of up to £75,000, fully remote working and £250,000-£300,000 OTE, this is an opportunity designed for an experienced Group Risk professional who wants to take control of their career and earning potential.

If you're looking for a role where your expertise is genuinely valued, where there is a huge amount of untapped opportunity and where your earnings can reflect the business you generate, we'd love to hear from you.
