Role synopsis

The Group Transformation Consultant is a member of the Group Transformation Office (GTO), a function established to drive and coordinate transformation across the organization. The GTO’s directive is to accelerate delivery of cost reductions, improve efficiency, and optimize transformation outcomes across entities and functions.

As a Group Transformation Consultant, the role holder will support the Transformation partners on the highest value transformation programmes across the group. They will provide support as well as help develop materials that will enable senior leaders to make informed decisions that will make bp more effective, simpler and ultimately a more valuable organization.

Role purpose

The purpose of the Group Transformation Consultant role is to support the delivery of high-impact transformation initiatives across the group by collaborating with entity leaders, functions, and cross-business teams. This role provides insights through data analytics, supports the development of strategic narratives and hands-on execution support to ensure that transformation outcomes are measurable, balanced, and aligned with financial and strategic ambitions. The role will also be responsible for the transformation risk processes and reporting, to look at the risk impact of change across bp.

Crucial Experience and Job Requirements:

• Experience in business analytics, strategy, or finance roles within sophisticated, global organizations.
• Experience in the energy sector and deep understanding of bp’s strategic priorities preferred.
• Communications: strong
• Consulting background or equivalent internal transformation experience highly advantageous.
• Proven track record to operate optimally across design and execution phases.

Technical

• Business analytics: Work with senior collaborators to map and understand problems and provide structure and support to invent solutions.
• Customer Mapping & Influence Strategy: Develops influence maps to engage senior partners and lead challenging interests across the group.
• Risk Management & Mitigation Planning: Proactively identifies transformation delivery risks and develops mitigation or contingency plans.
• Organisational and financial modelling: Models future states and stress-tests transformation options under multiple assumptions or market conditions.
• Benchmarking & Market Intelligence: Uses internal/external benchmarks to drive continuous improvement and identify new efficiency opportunities.

Future Location Notice: This role will start in St James' Square, London. bp has announced a planned office move to Timber Square, London, with all positions currently advertised in St James' Square, including this one, expected to relocate around Q4 2027-Q1 2028.
