Learn more at www.edify.org Position Start Date: October 1, 2026 Location: Guatemala Reports To: Regional Vice President for Central American Programs Work Environment: This position will be a full-time position, based in Guatemala, reporting the Regional Vice President for Central American Programs. The atmosphere of Edify is one where you can expect to perform widely varied tasks with various functional groups. Edify believes in the importance of using local resources to avoid duplication and build local capacity. Most of its program activities are, therefore, implemented in partnership with local microfinance and training organizations. There will also be collaboration with Edify’s global team in the other countries where Edify operates. Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Regional Vice President for Central American Programs , the Country Director Edify – Guatemala will plan, organize, and lead the Ecuador staff team to facilitate all activities necessary to implement Edify's vision in the country, to improve and expand sustainable Christ-centered education. The Country Director will also establish, build, and nurture trusting relationships with local Edify micro-finance and training partners. In the long run, the Country Director will encourage and support school Proprietors to integrate a Christian School Network at a national level. Work Environment: This position is a full-time position based in Edify's office in [Insert Location], requiring regular visits to local partner schools and periodic visits to schools in other regions of [Insert Country. The Country Director's work may entail significant travel throughout the various areas in the country. Travel Expectations: The position includes both local and regional travels. Additionally, Edify holds an annual all-staff meeting, alternating in a US-based or international location each year. All Edify Staff are required to attend this meeting. Duties/Responsibilities: To Microfinance Partners: Develop effective working relationships with Micro-finance partners in line with the principles and practices of Edify's network: Monitor financial health and growth of the School Loan Portfolio Ensure that the program seeks and serves schools within Edify's Mission. Provide timely reports to Edify region leaders and headquarters in the U.S. Lead with a vision for innovation and future development/growth of the program. Promote and maintain personal relationships with school Proprietors and or Directors to provide key insights to Edify. To Training Partners: Develop effective working relationships with Business and Christian transformation training providers (individuals and organizations): Develop a training program using existing materials and, when necessary, develop proprietary resources. Manage a training budget and a monthly training schedule for schools within the Edify school program. Hire, train and schedule trainers and facilitators d. Lead the vision and continually improve the training program for schools Design strategies to achieve Edify leading indicators In-Country Leadership: Build and develop the local Edify organization profile, providing effective leadership to accomplish Edify's mission and transformational objectives. Develop an understanding of the country's educational environment and the needs and resources to low-cost, independent Christ-centered schools. Recruit and develop Edify's local team according to the growth of Edify's operation in the country. Design and implement the necessary strategies to effectively accomplish Edify's mission locally. Host and lead the in-country experience of Edify's visitors and supporters (individual and groups) Build the local institutional image of Edify and network with like-minded organizations to synergize and expand the work of Edify. Network with Edify's staff in other countries to share experiences and consolidate the sense of teamwork for the region. Develop support partners (donors) to Edify in the country. Manage the completion of legal requirements for Edify's operation in [Insert Country] Ensure that Edify [Insert Country] operates a banking account with a local bank to facilitate transactions and enhance operations in the country. Prepare reports and documentation for financial audits and ensure overall financial and legal compliance Administrate monthly payroll for Edify [Insert Country] staff To Partner Schools. Develop effective relationships with school owners, directors, school leaders, and teachers. Research via visits to the needs of capital, training, and coaching of the partner schools. In charge of fieldwork by visiting at least 30 schools per month. Design strategies and build processes to serve the partner schools, fulfilling their needs based on sustainable development and offering assistance that does not create dependency. Lead the vision and continually improve education via Christian Transformation in partner schools. Design strategies by program and geographical area to achieve Edify leading indicators Supervisory Responsibilities: Seek, hire, train and supervise all staff, national and international, serving for Edify in Ecuador. Specific positions listed below will be hired as needed: a. Christ Centered Education Officer Impact Assessment Officer Fulfill all other duties that may be assign by the Vice President of Africa Programs Required Skills/Abilities: Personal confession of faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to Edify's mission and vision Knowledge of Finance and/or Microfinance operations Strong leadership, development, and coaching skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong team player attitude. Strong multi-cultural work attitude. Personal maturity and capacity to build and maintain harmonious personal relationships. Organized and methodical working (effective time management, prioritization of competing demands and multiple deadlines). Fluent in English and Spanish Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Education and Experience: At least ten years' experience in private enterprise businesses, educational organizations (at managerial level), international development or economic development work. Bachelor or Master Degree in Management, Education, Finance, International Development, or related field.
