Position Summary
The Hardware Specialist, Parking Technology, is a hybrid technical and client-aligned role focused on the sourcing, configuration, and support of hardware used in gated and license plate recognition (LPR) solutions. This position bridges the gap between Sales, Operations, and Technical teams by providing expert input on hardware selection, installation readiness, and implementation logistics. The ideal candidate combines strong technical acumen with clear communication skills to support sales conversations, project execution, and long-term vendor partnerships.
Primary Objective
To ensure the successful selection, configuration, and delivery of parking hardware solutions by serving as a technical bridge between Sales, Operations, and Vendors. This role supports the full hardware lifecycle—from advising on solution design to coordinating procurement, logistics, and post-install support—enabling reliable, scalable gated and LPR technology deployments across PMC client locations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales & Solution Support
Partner with Sales to advise on technical requirements, hardware compatibility, and configuration options for gated and LPR solutions. - Participate in client scope calls and internal alignment meetings to ensure clarity and feasibility of proposed solutions. - Assist in evaluating new hardware offerings and building resource materials for standard kits and deployments.
Hardware Management
Maintain hardware inventory, coordinate procurement, and ensure timely shipping of gate kits, pedestals, scanners, intercoms, and controllers. - Assemble, test, and configure hardware prior to deployment when needed.
Vendor Coordination
Liaise with third-party vendors to fulfill orders, request quotes, and handle escalations. - Ensure accurate and timely hardware delivery to project sites.
Project Support
Work closely with the PMC Project Manager to support install readiness. - Attend alignment calls to advise on hardware compatibility, logistics, or special site needs.
Post-Installation Support
Support the Service Desk post-installation with troubleshooting or parts replacement. - Act as an escalation point for technical product issues and vendor collaboration. The Claims Administrator analyzes claim trends to identify operational improvements and reduce risk, prepares management reports, supports staff training on best practices, and participates in audits and safety reviews to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
Additional Responsibilities
Other tasks may be assigned as needed to support the company’s overall operational objectives, with the expectation that the management remains flexible and responsive to evolving business needs.

Education/Experience
The ideal candidate will have an associate's or bachelor’s degree in IT, electronics, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience. A minimum of two years’ experience working with parking-specific hardware, including configuration, procurement, or technical sales support, is required. This role demands excellent organizational and logistics skills, strong verbal and written communication abilities, and confidence in client-facing or cross-functional team interactions.
Candidates must also be comfortable working directly with hardware, tools, and related equipment in both office and field environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with prior experience working with PARCS (Parking Access and Revenue Control Systems) equipment are strongly preferred. Familiarity with managing third-party vendors and navigating supply chain logistics will be highly beneficial. Ideal applicants will have experience supporting sales teams through solution design or participating in technical client discussions. A foundational understanding of networking, including IP address configuration, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and network switch —is also desirable.
Certificates and Licenses
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for this role, along with maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record with no more than three moving violations within a three-year period. Candidates must also pass and maintain a clean background check. No special certifications are necessary for this position.
Work Environment
This is a remote position with flexibility to travel as needed to project sites or vendor locations. The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, requiring regular collaboration with teams, vendors, and clients in the field and in corporate environments.
Associates will frequently use computers, communicate via phone, and perform duties in or around corporate office settings. Occasional support outside of standard business hours may be required to meet critical project milestones or assist with troubleshooting. Equipment and tools will be provided for both home office setup and hardware deployment staging.
Physical Demands
Requirements may include extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to lift moderate weights when necessary. Specific vision abilities—close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustments—may be required to ensure on-site awareness and safety.
Cell Phone Use
Employees may be required to use personal cell phones for work-related communication, including coordination with team members, managers, and clients, as well as accessing work applications. Reimbursement for work-related phone usage will follow company policy.

Employment with PMC is on an at-will basis, meaning either the employee or the employer may end the employment relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without cause or notice, in accordance with applicable laws. A 120-day introductory period applies.
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning employees in this role are not eligible for overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek at a rate of one and one-half times their regular hourly rate. PMC adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local wage and overtime laws, ensuring that compensation complies with these legal standards. All hourly rates will meet or exceed the minimum wage requirements for your specific work location.
