Role Description The Hayrat Fundraiser is a full-time remote role responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure financial support for Wendi Foundation’s programs and initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include identifying potential donors and partners, preparing fundraising proposals and concept notes, and managing online and offline fundraising campaigns. The role involves maintaining donor relationships, providing regular updates on project impact, and ensuring timely reporting and documentation. The Hayrat Fundraiser will collaborate with program teams to translate project needs into compelling fundraising messages and coordinate with communications staff to create content for social media, email, and other channels. This position also includes tracking fundraising performance, maintaining accurate records, and recommending improvements to fundraising approaches.

Qualifications

• Strong fundraising and resource mobilization skills, including donor prospecting, proposal writing, and campaign management.
• Experience in communications and marketing, such as creating impact stories, managing social media content, and developing outreach materials.
• Ability to conduct research on funding opportunities, analyze donor requirements, and align proposals with organizational priorities.
• Proficiency in relationship management, with skills in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and donor stewardship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with non-profit operations, international development, or community-based initiatives; experience in Uganda or East Africa is an asset.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Development Studies, Communications, Business, or Social Sciences) or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfort using digital tools for remote work, including office productivity software, online collaboration platforms, and basic CRM or donor management systems.
