Your mission

The Head of Accounting is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant accounting across all Matrix42 entities while leading and developing a team of accounting professionals. The role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including general and sub-ledger activities, manages the month-end closing process and related analyses, supports the preparation of statutory financial statements, and drives continuous improvement within the accounting function.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing international accounting team across multiple locations, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
  • Oversee the timely preparation of high quality consolidated financials statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in accordance with IFRS.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely recording of journal entries, including revenue recognition in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Support the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements, IFRS reporting packages, and audit deliverables for the group audit.
  • Drive the standardization and continuous improvement of accounting policies, controls, and processes across all Group entities.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reporting packages for banks, shareholders, investors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Act as primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors as well as other external and internal parties; especially Treasury, Tax and FP&A/Controlling
  • Manage and oversee the month-end closing process, including variance analysis and reporting
  • Ensuring the timely reconciliation and alignment of intercompany positions
  • Establish, maintain and continuously enhance audit guidelines & processes


Your profile

MUST HAVE

  • University degree in business administration or accounting
  • 10+ years professional experience
  • 3+ years of management experience with teams of 10-15 FTE spread across several locations in different countries
  • Experienced in preparing IFRS Group Financial Statements as well as stand-alone financial statements according to IFRS and HGB
  • Strong in VAT knowledge, Excel and in-depth knowledge of ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work with remote teams
  • Business Fluent in German and English (Finish or Polish or any other language will be a plus)
NICE TO HAVE
  • Knowledge of LucaNet
  • Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite
  • Knowledge of another local GAAP
