Head of Amazon / Senior Amazon Marketplace Manager

Sunday Citizen | US & UK Markets | Full-Time

About Sunday Citizen

Sunday Citizen is a premium bedding and home lifestyle brand known for innovative fabrics, exceptional comfort and beautifully designed products.

We're looking for a highly experienced, commercially driven Amazon expert to take full ownership of our Amazon business across the United States and United Kingdom.

We need an Amazon growth specialist who can scale revenue aggressively, improve profitability and manage every aspect of the channel from strategy through to execution.

This is not a role for someone who simply manages listings or oversees an advertising agency. We need a hands-on operator with deep Amazon expertise, strong commercial instincts and a proven record of building significant Amazon revenue.

The Role

As Head of Amazon / Senior Amazon Marketplace Manager, you will own the strategy, performance and operations of Amazon US and Amazon UK.

You will be responsible for delivering substantial revenue growth, improving organic rankings and conversion, managing advertising, forecasting demand, ensuring inventory availability and maximising channel profitability.

You must understand the differences between Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, including customer behaviour, competitive dynamics, advertising costs, fulfilment economics and marketplace requirements.

Your mission is to make Amazon a major, highly profitable growth channel for Sunday Citizen in both markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Amazon Revenue Growth & P&L Ownership

  • Own the Amazon US and UK commercial strategy, revenue targets, budgets and profitability.

  • Deliver significant year-over-year growth across both marketplaces.

  • Develop country-specific growth plans, product strategies and investment priorities.

  • Identify opportunities to increase traffic, conversion, average order value and repeat purchases.

  • Build and execute a clear roadmap for scaling hero products and launching new ranges.

  • Manage SKU-level profitability, including COGS, advertising, Amazon fees, fulfilment, storage, returns and promotional costs.

  • Establish accurate revenue and contribution margin reporting for each marketplace.

  • Identify new growth opportunities through competitor, keyword and category analysis.

2. Amazon Advertising & Performance Marketing

  • Own all Amazon PPC activity across the US and UK, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display.

  • Develop and optimise campaigns across branded, non-branded, competitor and product-targeting strategies.

  • Manage advertising budgets, bids, keywords, placements and campaign structures.

  • Optimise ACoS, TACoS, ROAS and advertising contribution to total revenue.

  • Drive profitable growth through improved advertising efficiency and increased organic sales.

  • Build testing frameworks for campaign structure, targeting, creative and budget allocation.

  • Evaluate DSP and Amazon Marketing Cloud opportunities where commercially appropriate.

  • Ensure advertising strategies are tailored to each market.

3. Amazon SEO, Content & Conversion

  • Own the performance and optimisation of all Amazon product listings.

  • Improve organic rankings, keyword visibility, traffic and conversion rates.

  • Manage product titles, bullet points, descriptions, backend search terms and attributes.

  • Develop and optimise A+ Content, Premium A+ Content, Brand Stores, imagery and video.

  • Work with the creative team to develop compelling, high-converting product content.

  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis and keyword research.

  • Develop market-specific content and keyword strategies for US and UK customers.

  • Manage product variations, catalogue structure and listing accuracy.

  • Drive improvements in product ratings, review generation through compliant programmes and customer experience.

4. Forecasting, Inventory & FBA Management

  • Own demand forecasting and inventory planning for Amazon US and UK.

  • Build accurate SKU-level sales forecasts by marketplace, season and promotional period.

  • Manage FBA replenishment planning, inventory availability and stock requirements.

  • Work with supply chain and operations teams to ensure inventory is positioned appropriately in both countries.

  • Prevent stockouts, overstock, aged inventory and unnecessary storage fees.

  • Monitor inventory health, stock cover, sell-through and fulfilment costs.

  • Understand and manage FBA capacity restrictions, inbound shipment requirements and storage economics.

  • Develop effective inventory plans for Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and peak seasonal demand.

  • Manage stranded inventory, discrepancies, reimbursements and operational issues.

5. Pricing, Promotions & Product Strategy

  • Develop and execute Amazon-specific pricing and promotional strategies for the US and UK.

  • Own promotional planning for Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and relevant seasonal events.

  • Manage coupons, deals, discounts and other Amazon promotional tools.

  • Analyse the profitability and incremental impact of promotional activity.

  • Identify opportunities for bundles, multipacks, new variations and product launches.

  • Partner with product and merchandising teams to identify the most commercially attractive assortment for each market.

  • Maintain premium brand positioning while maximising conversion and profitable sales.

6. Seller Central & Marketplace Operations

  • Take full ownership of Amazon Seller Central across both markets.

  • Manage account health, catalogue compliance, Brand Registry and operational performance.

  • Resolve suppressed listings, stranded inventory, listing errors and account issues.

  • Monitor returns, customer feedback, product reviews and Voice of the Customer data.

  • Manage Amazon cases, fee discrepancies, reimbursements and operational escalations.

  • Understand the regulatory, VAT, product compliance and fulfilment requirements relevant to selling through Amazon US and UK, coordinating with specialist teams where necessary.

  • Ensure accurate product data, pricing, inventory information and marketplace reporting.

  • Maintain strong operational standards and marketplace compliance.

7. Data, Analytics & Commercial Reporting

  • Develop comprehensive reporting across revenue, profit, advertising, inventory and conversion for both markets.

  • Monitor performance at marketplace, category, SKU and campaign level.

  • Track net sales, contribution margin, TACoS, ACoS, organic rankings, sessions, conversion rate and inventory health.

  • Build weekly, monthly and quarterly performance forecasts.

  • Identify performance issues quickly and implement corrective actions.

  • Provide senior leadership with clear reporting, commercial insights and growth recommendations.

  • Use data to prioritise resources, investment and commercial opportunities.

8. Systems & Operational Efficiency

  • Be highly proficient in Amazon Seller Central, Amazon Advertising and relevant analytics platforms.

  • Use tools such as Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Data Dive, Pacvue, Perpetua or equivalent.

  • Work effectively with ERP and inventory management systems to ensure accurate forecasting, ordering and reporting.

  • Develop efficient processes for marketplace management, performance reporting and operational execution.

  • Identify automation opportunities to improve accuracy, productivity and scalability.

  • Coordinate with internal creative, marketing, product, finance and supply chain teams.

Experience & Requirements

Essential — Non-Negotiable

  • 5–8+ years of hands-on Amazon marketplace experience.

  • Proven track record of significantly growing Amazon revenue and profitability.

  • Direct experience managing both Amazon US and Amazon UK.

  • Experience managing a multimillion-dollar Amazon business.

  • Deep expertise in Amazon PPC, SEO, organic ranking and conversion optimisation.

  • Strong commercial understanding of Amazon P&L management and SKU-level profitability.

  • Extensive experience with Seller Central, FBA, Brand Registry and marketplace operations.

  • Demonstrable experience in inventory forecasting, ordering, replenishment and demand planning.

  • Experience developing and executing major Amazon promotional campaigns.

  • Strong knowledge of Amazon analytics, reporting and optimisation tools.

  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.

  • Experience working with ERP and inventory management systems.

  • Ability to work independently, identify opportunities and execute without extensive oversight.
