The New Client Acquisition Team targets companies in the private, public and charity sectors, building strategic partnerships with large organisations to develop their employees in line with talent and digital strategies. Purpose of the Role Corndel is on an exciting journey of growth and transformation. As we introduce new programmes, products and ways of working, the optimisation of our core applications is becoming increasingly central to how we operate. The Head of Applications will take ownership of these systems, ensuring they are well-designed, well-supported and used to their full potential. Working closely with colleagues from across the business, you will help shape processes, improve user experience and make sure our systems enable people to do their best work. You will ensure that we draw maximum value from our contracts and vendor relationships. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, building strong relationships and turning business needs into practical, scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities 1. Application Configuration & Support Configure and optimise our core applications so they truly meet business needs. Work alongside business teams to design better workflows, remove friction and improve the day-to-day experience for users. Act as the expert point of contact for core application queries, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and well. Keep documentation, guidance and training materials clear, accessible and up to date. 2. Business Requirements & Transformation Support Engage with colleagues across Corndel to understand new requirements as our programmes and processes evolve. Translate these requirements into system changes, enhancements or new configurations. Support the rollout of new products and processes, ensuring systems enable a smooth, confident transition. Help embed change by supporting communication, training and best-practice adoption. 3. Application Integration & Technical Enhancement Support integrations between our applications, working with APIs, automation tools and low/no-code platforms. Work with internal and external technical specialists to ensure enhancements follow strong governance and are well documented. Use automation and workflow tools to deliver smart, efficient solutions where appropriate. 4. Application Strategy & Lifecycle Contribute to the ongoing strategy and roadmap for our applications, ensuring they evolve with the organisation’s needs. Assess new tools or enhancements with a focus on scalability, security, user experience and integration. Monitor system performance and user adoption, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. 5. Vendor & License Management Build positive relationships with software vendors to ensure we get the most value from our contracts. Oversee licence use, compliance and renewals, ensuring we have the right level of access at the best value. Maintain accurate records and support forecasting for future needs. 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with colleagues managing other systems to ensure alignment and avoid duplication. Collaborate with the Data and AI teams to support data quality, consistency and effective reporting. Partner with operational and programme teams to identify opportunities where system improvements can support better outcomes for learners, clients and colleagues. Skills & Experience Essential: Experience managing business applications in a mid-sized or large organisation. Hands-on experience configuring workflow or enterprise platforms (e.g., Aptem, Monday.com , CRM, LMS or similar). Good understanding of system integrations and/or low/no-code automation tools. Strong ability to understand business needs and translate them into practical, effective system solutions. Confident communicator who builds trusted relationships across teams. Experience managing vendors and software licences. A proactive, problem-solving approach with a commitment to continuous improvement. Desirable: Familiarity with structured change processes (SDLC, ITIL, or similar). Understanding of cybersecurity considerations in application management. Experience supporting digital or operational transformation Knowledge of HubSpot or Salesforce Experience of AI capability build and how this is achieved within the wider core application environment Reporting and Relationships Reports to: IT Director Internal: IT team, Data team, AI team, Product and Commercial teams, Operational teams, Change & Transformation, End users External: Application vendors, technical partners, consultants Why join Corndel?
