Job Title: Head of Development Location: Remote Type of Contract: Full-Time Salary Range: Competitive Compensation Language Requirements: Fluent English We are seeking a skilled Head of Development with extensive experience leading Agile engineering teams and scaling SaaS platforms to join our growing team. You will play a key role in defining the technical direction of our PHP/Laravel platform, leading high-performing engineering teams, and driving engineering excellence across the organization. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and continued success of a platform trusted by more than 1,300 rental businesses worldwide. Key Responsibilities Lead multiple Agile engineering teams delivering high-quality SaaS products while improving delivery speed, software quality, and team performance. Define and execute the technical roadmap for a PHP/Laravel-based platform, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and long-term architectural health. Design, implement, and optimize modern CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including code review standards, branching strategies, development workflows, and observability. Drive cross-functional architectural initiatives that reduce technical debt and improve platform performance and reliability. Mentor, coach, and develop engineers across all experience levels, fostering career growth, technical excellence, and increased ownership. Partner with product and business stakeholders to align engineering priorities with company goals and ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives. Must-Have Qualifications Proven experience leading multiple Agile software engineering teams delivering SaaS products at scale. Strong hands-on technical expertise with PHP , Laravel , modern software architecture, and scalable application design. Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, containerization technologies, and Infrastructure as Code. Demonstrated ability to improve engineering processes, reduce technical debt, and establish high engineering standards. Strong leadership experience mentoring engineers, building high-performing teams, and driving measurable improvements in delivery and code quality. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Fluent English (Native or C2-level proficiency) with the ability to work effectively in a fully remote, global environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading globally distributed or fully remote engineering teams. Strong background in DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, and observability platforms. Experience scaling SaaS products serving thousands of customers. Metrics-driven leadership style with experience using engineering KPIs to improve team performance.
