Mizuho’s data operating model is organized around enterprise-wide capabilities and federated data domains that create clear accountability for data from origination through consumption. Domains are structured around the types of data originated and consumed across the enterprise, including transactional, derived, and master and reference data, with the objective of minimizing overlap, avoiding unclaimed data elements, and supporting business, operational, regulatory, and decision-making needs.
Within this model, the Head of Enterprise Data Stewardship & Remediation is accountable for the enterprise stewardship framework, Master and Reference Data operating model, design standards, governance cadence, issue transparency, escalation, and remediation oversight. Business, functional, and technology owners remain accountable for the accuracy, completeness, control execution, and timely remediation of data within their respective domains and platforms. The role drives consistency, decision-making, and executive visibility across accountable owners without displacing domain-level ownership.
Head of Enterprise Data Stewardship & Remediation
As the Head of Enterprise Data Stewardship & Remediation, reporting directly to the Chief Data Officer (CDO), you will lead Data Domain Stewards across the enterprise, set the strategic vision for stewardship, and govern the operating models, standards, and oversight mechanisms for Master and Reference Data and data Issue Management and Remediation. You will drive adoption of consistent practices and strengthen accountability, transparency, ownership, and measurable risk reduction across all domains.
In parallel, you will oversee the management of transactional data across front-office and operations, ensuring data quality, controls, and lifecycle governance are embedded end-to-end, from trade origination through processing, settlement, and reporting. This includes data related to core Banking and Markets activities such as lending, deposits, trade finance, equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
You will also lead the design, ownership model, and governance framework for Master and Reference Data in partnership with business and functional data owners, ensuring authoritative sources, clear accountability, standardized definitions, controlled change management, and fit-for-purpose distribution to consuming platforms and business processes.
In addition, you will establish and oversee the enterprise approach to data issue management and remediation, driving accountable resolution through domain, business, technology, risk, and control owners. This includes issue intake, triage, root cause analysis, prioritization, ownership assignment, remediation planning, closure evidence, and executive-level reporting on risk reduction and control improvement.
Serving as the bridge between business domains, operations, and enterprise data governance, you will drive cross-functional alignment to ensure high-quality, well-governed, and fit-for-purpose data that supports business operations, regulatory compliance, and decision-making.
