Role Description
The Head of Events will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of FLS events, including virtual and in-person gatherings, workshops, and community-building activities. This volunteer role involves designing event concepts aligned with FLS’s mission, managing event timelines, and collaborating with mentors, partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver engaging experiences. The Head of Events will handle logistics, coordinate speakers, manage participant communication, and ensure that each event runs smoothly and within agreed-upon resource constraints. This is a remote role, with flexibility to collaborate online across time zones while maintaining regular communication with the FLS team and community.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and stakeholder management.
- Experience in Event Planning and Event Management, covering program design, logistics coordination, and timeline oversight.
- Budgeting skills to plan, track, and optimise event-related resources responsibly.
- Sales or partnership development skills to engage sponsors, collaborators, and participants.
- Demonstrated interest in leadership development, gender equity, or community building.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Bachelor degree ideally from hospitality business school is a plus
- Prior experience in event roles within nonprofits, education, or professional networks is an advantage.
- Comfort working in an international, multicultural environment; proficiency in English required, additional national languages are a plus.
- Leadership skills to lead a team of volunteers required
