Job Title: Head of FP&A
Employment type: Permanent, hybrid (2 days per week in our Manchester office)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We’re looking for a Head of FP&A to build and lead the financial planning and analysis function at AccessPay, a growing, PE-backed SaaS business.

This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape our planning processes, develop our financial models and influence decisions across the business. Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the Financial Controller, you’ll provide the executive leadership team and PE sponsor with clear insight into performance, growth opportunities and investment decisions.

You’ll combine hands-on financial analysis with commercial business partnering, working closely with department heads across sales, product and other functions. As the business scales, you’ll also have the opportunity to build and develop a small FP&A team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, working with department heads to develop plans and assess performance against budget and forecast.
  • Own and develop the group’s financial models, including three-statement modelling, scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
  • Develop our SaaS KPI framework, ensuring consistent definitions and reporting across ARR, MRR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, Rule of 40 and gross margin.
  • Provide clear variance analysis and commercial recommendations to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Prepare board reporting packs, investor materials and management information for the PE sponsor, alongside the CFO and Financial Controller.
  • Partner with commercial, sales and product teams on pricing, deal structuring and unit economics.
  • Support long-range planning, investment appraisal and business case development, as well as M&A due diligence, deal modelling and integration planning.
  • Improve planning tools, systems and processes, and lead and develop FP&A analysts as the function grows.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You’ll have experience leading FP&A activity and be comfortable moving between detailed modelling and discussions with senior stakeholders. You’ll be able to challenge assumptions constructively, explain what the numbers mean and turn analysis into practical recommendations.

We’re looking for:
  • An ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification, or a strong finance or analytics background with relevant experience.
  • Proven FP&A leadership experience, ideally in a PE-backed or high-growth SaaS or technology business.
  • Strong financial modelling skills and advanced Excel proficiency—our planning processes are currently Excel-based.
  • A strong working knowledge of SaaS metrics and KPI frameworks.
  • Commercial judgement, clear communication and the confidence to present to senior leadership.
  • Experience managing or developing a small team, with the ability to work both strategically and hands-on.
Experience with FP&A or planning systems and reporting tools such as Power BI would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to establish an FP&A function with direct access to the CFO and exposure to executive and investor decision-making. You’ll have scope to shape how we plan, measure performance and support the next stage of the business’s growth.

Alongside hybrid working and a collaborative team, we offer:
  • 25 days’ holiday plus public holidays increasing with length of service.
  • Birthday off work.
  • 2 paid volunteer days a year
  • Holiday Purchase scheme
  • We operate a Salary Exchange pension scheme which you will be auto-enrolled into from day one of employment.
  • £240 yearly Wellbeing Allowance
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Health cash plan
  • Free breakfast & lunch when in the Manchester office
  • Discounted Parking in Manchester
  • Access to training – both internal and external
  • We are a Dog-Friendly office
  • And many more!
