Head of HR Spain - Temporary contract until december

In this role you will: Leadership & HR strategy Define and drive the HR strategy and policy for Spain, in line with the Group HR strategy and in close coordination with the HR team based in Paris Lead, coach and develop the Spain HR team (7 people based in Barcelona) Be THE go-to HR Business Partner across your entire scope: disciplinary matters, onboarding, offboarding, reorganizations, employee relations and litigation Lead the Spanish rollout of the Manager DNA programme (Posture + Practice, the 4 pillars: Model / Do-er / Coach / Driver) and the redesign of the performance review grid (50% OKR / 50% Work Formula & skills) Act as a strategic partner to the leadership team, supporting business growth and organizational development HR transformation & innovation Be the Spain lead on the HR AI-Transformation project: mapping the employee journey, deploying Claude as a strategic HR ally and Cowork to automate low-value operational tasks Drive the evolution of the HR function from reactive to proactive, leveraging data, technology and new AI tools Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve HR processes and employee experience HR administration, payroll & compliance Ensure full legal compliance across payroll, personnel administration and Spanish labor law Oversee Spanish payroll production and manage the relationship with our external payroll provider Ensure the HRIS (Workday) is properly administered and continuously improved Ensure HR policies and processes are consistently implemented across the Spanish organization Employee relations Lead employee relations in Spain and act as the main point of contact for employee representatives Prepare and manage employee representative meetings and ensure constructive social dialogue HR development Build and steer the Spain training and development plan Partner with the Talent Acquisition teams to set recruitment up for success and ensure a strong onboarding experience Oversee office management activities for the Barcelona office Work closely with the France HR team to ensure alignment and share best practices across countries What we're looking for: Around 10 years of experience in generalist HR roles , with significant experience managing HR teams, ideally within a fast-growing organization (start-up, scale-up…) Proven experience leading an HR function and managing a sizeable team, with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels Natural leadership, excellent interpersonal skills and strong people management capabilities A sharp analytical mindset: you're as comfortable shaping HR strategy as you are rolling up your sleeves to solve operational challenges Strong knowledge of Spanish labor law, payroll and employee relations Genuine curiosity for AI and new HR tools — you're not afraid to rethink processes and experiment with tools such as Claude or Cowork Strong autonomy, adaptability and a hands-on mindset Fluent English , with regular exchanges with the France HR team based in Paris Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and partner effectively with senior stakeholders What We Offer You: Evolve in an international and inclusive environment: Everyone has a place at papernest, and with over 46 nationalities, it’s common to start a sentence in French and finish it in English or Spanish! 💸 Compensation: a stock options plan (BSPCE) in accordance with company regulations, as well as a Pluxee card to manage your tax brackets through a flexible compensation system covering various services (transport, catering, and childcare). 🏆 Benefits: as a provider of home insurance and green electricity and gas, we offer attractive deals to our employees.
