About the Role
Frankenburg is looking for a Head of Information Security to build and lead information security and cybersecurity across our Group as we develop and produce guided missiles and air-defence systems for the defence of the free world.
This is a hands-on role. You will set the security direction and work directly with Engineering, Production and other technical and operational teams to understand risks, translate requirements into practical controls and find solutions that support both security and the needs of the business.
As Frankenburg expands its engineering and industrial production operations across Europe, the role covers corporate IT, engineering and production environments, classified information, and regulatory, customer and defence-industry security requirements.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain Frankenburg’s Group-wide information security framework, security roadmap and ISO 27001-based management system.
Identify applicable EU and national cybersecurity, defence and information-security requirements, as well as relevant NATO and defence-industry security requirements, and translate them into practical policies, controls and working practices across Frankenburg.
Work closely with Engineering, Production and other teams on security across corporate IT, hybrid infrastructure, engineering environments and production systems, including risk assessments, vulnerability management and incident preparedness and response.
Lead the security work required to prepare Frankenburg for handling EU, NATO and national classified information and meeting applicable industrial-security requirements.
Coordinate information security with physical, personnel and operational security where these areas affect the protection of information, systems or critical operations.
Build security awareness across Frankenburg through practical guidance and training, and support teams in understanding and applying security requirements.
Support customer, programme, supplier and regulatory security requirements, and coordinate audits, assessments and remediation work with external cybersecurity specialists and advisers.
The role will also act as Frankenburg's senior information-security contact and, where applicable, fulfil statutory cybersecurity responsibilities for Group entities.
What we are looking for
Strong hands-on experience in information and cybersecurity, combining technical security with security governance.
Experience in defence, national security or another environment handling sensitive or classified technical information.
Practical knowledge of EU, NATO or national classified-information security requirements.
Experience building or operating an ISO 27001-based information security management system.
Good understanding of security across corporate IT, hybrid infrastructure, engineering systems and production environments.
Ability to understand regulatory and contractual requirements and turn them into proportionate, workable security measures.
A collaborative approach and experience working directly with engineering, IT and operational teams rather than operating only through policies and audits.
Fluent professional English, written and spoken.
Experience with NIS2 implementation, critical-infrastructure requirements, defence-industry security requirements or security in multi-country organisations would be an advantage.
The role requires willingness and eligibility to obtain the security clearances or access authorisations required for the position, as well as willingness to travel between Frankenburg’s locations when needed.
Our Values
Our mission is ambitious, and it takes a team that works with the same intensity.
Own the Mission: Mission first. Always.
We choose impact — we focus on what moves the mission forward fastest instead of “nice-to-haves". We fix it now — when delays or problems appear, we step up, rally the right people, and solve them immediately. We keep momentum — when time matters, we stay focused and move forward without waiting for perfect conditions.Strive for More: Dare more. Do more. Achieve the impossible.
We challenge the status quo — we question, test, and improve instead of accepting “the usual way.” We embrace discomfort — we step outside comfort zones and turn challenges into growth. We anticipate the future — we build solutions that scale and set higher standards each time.Build with Trust: Be open. Keep promises.
We walk the talk — what we say, we do. No excuses, no exceptions. We share openly — we communicate clearly and early, even when the news is hard. We own outcomes — we admit errors quickly, fix them, and prevent them from repeating.
Ready to Make a Real Impact?
Apply now! The deadline is October 23, 2026, but we review applications and reach out to qualified candidates continuously.
