Head of IT Governance

As the Head of IT Governance, you will ensure that BE-terna’s IT organization operates with clear governance, transparent financial management, effective processes, and a strong focus on performance and risk. You will report to the Director of IT and work closely with IT function heads, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Security, Digitalization, and other group functions.
You will own key areas of IT governance, including ITSM, financial planning, vendor and license management, risk governance, demand management, and IT reporting. Your role will connect business priorities, financial discipline, risk management, and operational performance, helping IT deliver measurable value across the Group.

#yourmission

• Own and continuously develop BE-terna’s IT governance framework, ensuring clear processes, responsibilities, and documentation.
• Support the implementation of the IT strategy, aligning IT activities with business priorities, financial frameworks, and risk appetite.
• Plan, allocate, and monitor the IT budget together with the Director of IT and IT function heads.
• Own the ITSM process framework, including Incident, Request, Problem, Change, and CMDB standards, with the ServiceNow platform operated by Business Platforms.
• Lead vendor, contract, and license management, ensuring effective performance, cost transparency, and optimization.
• Own the IT risk register and risk-acceptance process, monitoring key KPIs and KRIs and escalating risks where required.
• Lead the end-to-end IT demand management process, ensuring transparent prioritization and value tracking.
• Drive continuous improvement of IT processes and identify opportunities for efficiency, simplification, and cost reduction.
• Provide clear IT reporting and dashboards covering performance, costs, risks, SLAs, and the project portfolio.

#yoursuperpowers

• Proven experience in IT governance, IT management, IT controlling, or a comparable role, ideally within an international organization.
• Strong knowledge of IT financial management, budgeting, cost allocation, and reporting.
• Experience with vendor, contract, and license management.
• Good understanding of ITSM and ITIL processes.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with numbers, KPIs, KRIs, and SLAs.
• Strong process design, optimization, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Independent, structured, and meticulous approach with a high level of integrity.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Desirable:

• ITIL 4 Foundation certification; Managing Professional is a plus for function heads.
• Experience or training in IT Asset Management (ITAM) / Software Asset Management (SAM).
