More information at: www.inetum.com Scope of Ownership The Head of Infrastructure Services is expected to have overall accountability for: Servers and operating systems Physical and virtual infrastructure Storage platforms Data centers and server rooms Virtualization platforms Backup and recovery infrastructure Disaster recovery infrastructure Infrastructure monitoring Infrastructure asset and lifecycle management Infrastructure vendors and service providers Infrastructure team and operational processes Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Strategy Define and execute the company's infrastructure strategy and technology roadmap. Own the lifecycle of the organization's infrastructure environment. Ensure infrastructure capacity, performance, availability, and scalability meet current and future business requirements. Establish infrastructure standards, architecture principles, and technical policies. Lead infrastructure modernization, consolidation, and lifecycle-management initiatives. Evaluate infrastructure technologies and make recommendations based on business requirements, technical suitability, risk, and total cost of ownership. Data Center & Physical Infrastructure Own the operation and development of physical infrastructure and data center environments. Ensure appropriate standards for power, cooling, physical security, connectivity, and equipment resilience. Manage the lifecycle of servers, storage systems, network equipment, and other infrastructure components. Plan infrastructure capacity and hardware refresh cycles. Coordinate infrastructure installations, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activities. Manage relationships with data center, connectivity, hardware, and infrastructure service providers. Servers, Storage & Virtualization Oversee server infrastructure across physical and virtual environments. Ensure reliable operation of virtualization platforms and associated infrastructure. Own storage architecture, capacity planning, performance, availability, and lifecycle management. Establish appropriate standards for operating systems, server configuration, patching, and system hardening. Drive automation of repetitive infrastructure administration wherever practical. Infrastructure Security Ensure infrastructure is designed and operated according to appropriate security standards. Oversee infrastructure hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation, privileged access, and system security controls. Implement and maintain appropriate identity and access controls for infrastructure environments. Ensure infrastructure changes and configurations are appropriately documented and auditable. Partner with the Security function on security assessments, remediation, and incident response. Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Own the organization's infrastructure backup and recovery strategy. Ensure critical systems have appropriate backup, redundancy, and recovery mechanisms. Define and regularly test Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity procedures. Establish appropriate Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) in collaboration with business stakeholders. Lead infrastructure recovery activities during major incidents and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future improvements. Monitoring & Operational Excellence Establish effective monitoring, alerting, logging, and capacity-management processes. Define and monitor infrastructure availability, performance, and operational KPIs. Establish structured incident, problem, change, and configuration-management processes. Lead major infrastructure incidents and ensure appropriate root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Reduce operational risk through standardization, automation, documentation, and proactive maintenance. Ensure infrastructure documentation and technical inventories remain accurate and up to date. Team Leadership Lead, manage, and develop the infrastructure team. Define team structure, responsibilities, objectives, and operating processes. Recruit and retain strong infrastructure engineering and operations talent. Establish a culture of ownership, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Develop technical capabilities through mentoring, knowledge sharing, training, and professional development. Ensure appropriate on-call and operational support coverage. Budget & Vendor Management Own the infrastructure budget and annual planning process. Develop infrastructure investment plans and business cases. Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining required levels of performance, availability, and resilience. Manage infrastructure vendors, service providers, maintenance agreements, and technical contracts. Negotiate with vendors and ensure services meet agreed technical and operational requirements. Maintain an accurate view of infrastructure assets, contracts, licenses, warranties, and lifecycle status. 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, network engineering, IT operations, or technical disciplines related. 3+ years of experience in a senior infrastructure or IT leadership position. Proven experience managing on-premises infrastructure and data center environments. Strong knowledge of server, storage, networking, virtualization, and operating-system technologies. Strong experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent. Experience managing enterprise backup and disaster recovery environments. Strong understanding of infrastructure security, system hardening, access management, and patch management. Experience with infrastructure monitoring and capacity management. Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and infrastructure projects. Strong vendor-management, budgeting, and stakeholder-management skills. Excellent problem-solving and incident-management capabilities.
