At Fayara, we’re building and scaling high-performance digital infrastructure that powers growth across AdTech and MarTech ecosystems. We’re looking for people who are curious, driven, and eager to take ownership in solving complex, high-impact problems.
Location: Madrid
Work Model: Hybrid - 4 days/week from the office
Salary: €70,000 - €85,000 gross/year
Main Work Language: English (Greek, Dutch and/or Spanish would be a big plus)
We’re looking for our first in-house legal hire to take ownership of Legal, Tax and Structuring across a fast-growing international digital business.
We operate across multiple countries and multiple legal entities, with offices in Madrid, Rotterdam and Limassol, Cyprus, and our structure continues to evolve as we scale.
Until now, legal, tax and structuring matters have been handled across different departments and with external advisors. As the business has grown, that approach no longer works. We need one person who can take ownership, bring everything together and build the framework that allows the business to move quickly without creating unnecessary legal, tax or structural risk.
This is a hands-on role. You won't be joining an established legal department with processes already in place. You'll be the person building that function from the ground up.
You’ll report directly to the CFO and work closely with C-level, Finance, HR, Sales, Payments and other teams across the business.
What you'll own
Commercial agreements: Own the drafting, review and management of agreements with vendors, publishers, partners, freelancers and other third parties.
Legal framework: Build and maintain a consistent framework for key agreements, including employment, freelance, intercompany, franchise and other commercial contracts.
Corporate governance: Take ownership of corporate records, board and shareholder matters, filings, authorised signatories and other governance requirements across multiple entities.
International structure & tax: Oversee the legal and tax aspects of our multi-country, multi-entity structure, including intercompany arrangements, transfer pricing, IP licensing and permanent establishment risks.
Risk & compliance: Identify gaps and potential risks across the group and turn them into clear, practical actions.
External advisors: Coordinate and manage external legal and tax advisors when specialist or local expertise is required.
Business advice: Translate legal and tax issues into clear recommendations for management and C-level, and take ownership of getting those recommendations implemented.
M&A: Support acquisitions, restructuring and other strategic transactions from a Legal and Tax perspective.
What we're looking for
5+ years of relevant experience in Legal, Tax, Structuring or a closely related area.
Experience in a digital, online business is a must. You understand the pace, commercial reality and legal challenges that come with digital businesses.
Strong experience working with multi-country, multi-entity international structures is a must.
Solid experience with cross-border structures, intercompany agreements, transfer pricing, IP licensing and M&A.
Strong understanding of commercial contracts and corporate governance.
A genuinely hands-on approach. You are comfortable getting into the detail, drafting and reviewing agreements yourself, solving problems and building processes rather than simply delegating them.
Strong ownership and accountability. You will be the first in-house legal person, so you need to be comfortable taking responsibility without an existing legal team around you.
Pragmatic and solution-oriented. You know how to protect the business without unnecessarily slowing it down.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, scaling environment where structures and priorities continue to evolve.
Fluent English. Additional languages such as Greek, Spanish or Dutch are a plus.
Comfortable travelling occasionally between our locations when needed.
Why this role matters
You’ll have a real opportunity to build the legal function rather than inherit one.
Your job will be to bring structure and visibility to an area that has become increasingly important as the business has grown: creating the right frameworks, putting clear processes in place, identifying risks early and becoming the person the business can rely on when something legal, tax or structural comes up.
If you like having ownership, working close to the business and building things rather than maintaining an established setup, this is that kind of role.
We value thoughtful applications and review each one carefully. Every application is reviewed by a member of our team. If your experience aligns with what we’re looking for, we’ll be in touch regarding next steps.
