We look forward to receiving your application for the position of Head of Market & Product Design (80-100%) - 1631 Help keep Switzerland's lights on In this exciting role, you and your team will be responsible for the conceptual development of the framework conditions governing the Swiss and European electricity markets. You will develop and optimise products in the areas of frequency control and flexibility markets, enabling Swissgrid to continue ensuring secure grid operation at all times. Your responsibilities will also include: Leadership and development of the team, including the creation of a motivating environment that fosters performance, innovation and collaboration Further development of TSO products and markets, including the initiation and management of strategically relevant projects Development of the target vision for the future of frequency control and derivation of concrete solutions for an evolving electricity market and evolving grid operations Early identification of technological, political and regulatory trends and translation of these developments into future-proof strategies and implementation measures Development and orchestration of flexibility within the energy system, ranging from centralised and decentralised resources to new solutions for Switzerland’s changing generation mix Strengthening of national and international cooperation and representation of Swissgrid vis-à-vis distribution system operators, power plants, flexibility providers, transmission system operators and relevant expert committees This is how you make a difference For this role, we are looking for a strong leader with excellent communication skills, a systematic approach to problem-solving and decision-making, and the ability to create a motivating working environment. You bring the following qualifications and attributes: Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of the key elements of the national and international electricity markets Strong understanding of Swissgrid’s operational processes and the impact of regulatory requirements on these processes Excellent strategic and conceptual skills, enabling the rapid and comprehensive assessment of complex, multidisciplinary topics Ability to see the big picture and commitment to pragmatic solutions Compelling communication skills tailored to different audiences and organisational levels Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Ability to motivate others and achieve common objectives Ability to identify new opportunities and developments, form an independent view and adapt quickly to new situations University degree, potentially including a doctorate, in electrical engineering or economics/business administration, combined with a good understanding of the other discipline What we offer We offer varied and exciting responsibilities in a company that is unique in Switzerland, as well as a modern working environment in the immediate vicinity of Aarau railway station.
