Show job description

Pricing I/O is a fast-growing pricing consultancy and coaching practice, hyper-focused on helping B2B SaaS and Tech companies monetize value.

Our team of high performers is dedicated to helping growth-stage software companies capture more value and shift pricing from guesswork to a framework. Our interactive and hands-on approach is proven across hundreds of software businesses and teaches companies how to price for tomorrow while solving for today.

DESCRIPTION

The Head of Marketing is a senior, hands-on leader who owns Pricing I/O's brand, positioning, and go-to-market strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the leadership team, this person will take part in leadership-level business decisions and help shape where Pricing I/O goes next, not just how it's marketed. This role also owns Pricing I/O’s private equity (PE) and referral partnerships, one of our most important pipeline sources. This role will build and scale the marketing function from the ground up: sharpening how Pricing I/O tells its story, generating demand for our services, and leading go-to-market for new offerings such as Currv, our evolution from a project-based consultancy into a continuous, managed pricing partner.

This role is approximately 50% leading the marketing function (strategy, planning, and building the team) and 50% hands-on execution. You'll be the senior marketing subject-matter expert on the leadership team, and you should be comfortable making recommendations and operating independently without an established marketing playbook.

This is a remote position, with occasional in-person team offsites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own brand positioning & messaging: Partner with leadership to build and refine Pricing I/O's core messaging and competitive positioning — including how the company differentiates its human expertise in an increasingly AI-saturated market.
  • Lead go-to-market for new offerings: Drive go-to-market strategy and execution for new products and services, including the Currv launch — audience targeting, messaging, launch planning, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Own private equity & referral partnerships: Deepen relationships with our PE partners, build portfolio-level growth plans, and create repeatable referral programs that drive Currv adoption across portfolios.
  • Own a qualified pipeline target: Run marketing against an explicit pipeline goal, partner with Growth on lead acceptance and handoffs, and improve forecast accuracy over time.
  • Drive the website & digital presence: Own the strategy behind Pricing I/O's website, ensuring clear calls-to-action and persona-specific paths for both champions and economic decision-makers, and grow discoverability across search and AI answer engines.
  • Build lead nurture & lifecycle marketing: Evaluate and implement nurture and lifecycle tooling (e.g., Customer.io), and design behavioral trigger campaigns that move leads through the funnel.
  • Own marketing metrics & reporting: Define and build out the marketing KPIs that feed the leadership dashboard, including full-funnel Bowtie instrumentation from lead through renewal, and use data to guide strategy and prioritization.
  • Build & lead the marketing function: Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing marketing team as Pricing I/O scales.
  • Partner cross-functionally: Work closely with the Client Growth/Sales team, Delivery, and executive leadership to ensure marketing efforts support pipeline generation and the overall client experience.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YOUR FIRST 6-12 MONTHS

  • Priority PE partners have active portfolio plans, and PE-sourced pipeline is measurable
  • Currv is launched successfully, with clear positioning, messaging, and a launch plan carried out across channels with priority brand asset transitioned within 6 months
  • The website has stronger conversion paths, with clear calls-to-action and persona-specific journeys for champions and economic decision-makers
  • Lifecycle and nurture infrastructure is live, with behavioral trigger campaigns moving leads through the funnel
  • Marketing KPIs are defined and feeding the leadership dashboard
  • A repeatable demand-generation engine is producing predictable pipeline for the Client Growth team
  • You've assessed what the function needs and recommended the next marketing hires

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 7–10+ years of B2B SaaS marketing experience, including experience leading marketing strategy, programs, or teams
  • Experience building partner, channel, or referral programs, plus a track record of owning a pipeline or revenue number
  • Proven experience owning brand positioning and messaging, and translating it across web, sales enablement, and campaigns
  • Experience leading go-to-market for new products, services, or major repositioning efforts
  • Strong grasp of marketing analytics, with experience defining and reporting on KPIs
  • Familiarity with marketing and lifecycle tools (e.g., HubSpot, Customer.io, or similar)
  • Polished written & verbal storytelling skills, with a sharp eye for brand and design
  • Confident, ambitious, a positive attitude, humble, and open to feedback
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity in a small, fast-growing services company: sense of urgency without sacrificing quality
  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

  • You may currently be a Head of Marketing, Director, Senior Manager, or Manager, or an experienced marketing leader who is ready to take full ownership of a function. Your readiness for the step up matters more than your current title.
  • Direct experience with pricing, packaging, or monetization strategy — as a practitioner, or as a client of a pricing consultancy
  • Existing relationships in the private equity or B2B SaaS investor ecosystem
  • A track record of building a marketing function from the ground up at an early-stage B2B SaaS or professional services company
  • Experience partnering directly with a Founder/CEO
  • Genuine belief in Pricing I/O's mission and business model
