The Global Virtual Validation organization is the central simulation department within Original Equipment Solutions (OESL), supporting all regions and technical departments worldwide. As Head of Method and Tool Development (m/f/d), you will lead a core team responsible for advancing simulation methodologies, material modelling techniques, and supporting tool frameworks. Your mission is to improve the quality, robustness, and efficiency of simulation processes while driving innovation in virtual validation through new methods, automation, and AI-supported solutions. Lead and develop the global Method and Tool Development team Define and drive the roadmap for simulation methodologies, material modelling approaches, and supporting tools Develop and implement advanced simulation methods in areas such as rubber dynamics, material modelling, creep behavior, material databases and others Collaborate closely with colleagues responsible for automation, data-driven engineering, and AI solutions Plan, prioritize, and manage methodology development projects, including targets, deliverables, milestones, and timelines Own and continuously improve material characterization procedures and related tracking tools Promote knowledge sharing across the global Virtual Validation network through guidelines, workshops, training material, and best practices Communicate and collaborate with various functions and departments worldwide Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or a comparable field (e.g. M.Sc., Dipl.-Ing., Ph.D.) Extensive experience in the automotive industry and simulation method development Several years of leadership experience, both disciplinary and functional Strong expertise in finite element analysis and simulation methodologies Advanced knowledge of mechanics, continuum mechanics, finite element theory, and material modelling Strong understanding of rubber, plastics, and metallic materials Experience with FEA software such as Abaqus, ANSYS, HyperWorks, or comparable tools Programming and scripting skills are an advantage Knowledge of OESL products and manufacturing processes is beneficial Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills Experience working in an international and multicultural environment Fluent English, written and spoken Applications from severely handicapped people are welcome.
