Head of Operations Location: Hybrid/Aylesford, Kent Salary/package: £60,000 to £70,000 per annum DOE Contract type: Permanent Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week Commercial Services Group (CSG) are looking for a proactive and collaborative Head of Operations to join their Global Education Supplies (GES) division. This role would suit an established operations leader with experience in warehousing, logistics, distribution or supply chain environments, offering the opportunity to influence strategy, develop teams and deliver scalable operational performance. This is a role where strategic judgement, commercial expertise and visible leadership are essential with responsibility for operational strategy, health and safety, budgets, logistics performance and the development of a high-performing team. What you’ll be doing Leading all operational activity across warehousing, fulfilment, transportation and third-party logistics to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Developing and delivering operational strategy that drives efficiency, scalability and service excellence across multiple brands. Overseeing complex, high-volume operations, ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently and cost-effectively. Leading health and safety strategy, compliance and risk management across warehouse and logistics operations. Managing operational budgets, resource planning and performance to support commercial objectives and sustainable growth. Building, developing and inspiring high-performing teams, creating a culture of accountability, inclusion and continuous improvement. Working closely with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, IT and People teams to drive business performance and operational alignment. Using data, insight and strong commercial judgement to identify opportunities, manage risk and support strategic decision-making. Championing ethical, compliant and customer-focused operations that support long-term business success. What we’re looking for Proven senior leadership experience within warehousing, logistics, distribution or supply chain operations. A strong track record of leading complex, multi-brand operations and delivering operational excellence. Experience of budget ownership, financial management and driving commercial performance. The ability to build, develop and inspire high-performing teams and future leaders. Strong commercial awareness, strategic thinking and decision-making capability. Sound knowledge of health and safety, compliance and risk management within operational environments. Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills. A collaborative, ethical and inclusive leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement and customer experience.
