About Heropa

Heropa is a virtual IT labs platform that helps software companies deliver hands-on training, product demonstrations, proofs of concept and other interactive software experiences.

We are fundamentally a product company. Our platform provisions and manages complex cloud environments on demand, giving users secure, browser-based access to fully configured labs anywhere in the world. Heropa is a technically sophisticated product spanning cloud infrastructure, applications, developer tooling and enterprise software workflows.

The role

We are looking for a highly technical, hands-on Head of Product to take ownership of turning product vision into well-designed, shipped product.

This role would suit someone already operating at a senior product level who is ready to take broader ownership of the entire product function. You may already be a Head of Product, or you may be a Technical Product Lead, Principal Product Manager or similar who is ready to step into that level of responsibility.

You will work closely with our CEO, who currently leads product strategy and direction, often starting with loosely defined ideas, problems or areas of the product we want to improve. Your role is to get into the detail, work out how the capability should function, design the solution and drive it through to being released.

This is not a management-heavy Head of Product role. We are a small team, so you will remain deeply hands-on and will be expected to take substantial ownership without needing requirements to be fully defined for you.

ResponsibilitiesProduct ownership and delivery

• Take broad or loosely defined product ideas and turn them into clear, well-considered solutions.
• Own and continuously refine the product roadmap and backlog.
• Work with leadership to prioritise new capabilities and improvements.
• Own initiatives from initial concept through engineering, QA and production release.
• Resolve ambiguity, make product decisions and ensure the intended product outcome ultimately ships.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing functionality, usability and consistency.

Technical product leadership

Heropa is a deeply technical product, and you will need to understand it end to end.

You will work closely with product and platform engineering on solution architecture for new capabilities, helping determine how complex features should operate across both the product and underlying platform.

You should be comfortable with concepts including cloud infrastructure, APIs, authentication, networking, developer tools, command-line interfaces, application deployment and enterprise SaaS architectures.

You do not need to be a software engineer, but you need the technical depth to reason through complex product problems and collaborate effectively with the Engineering team.

AI-enabled product development

AI should be a core part of how you work. We are looking for someone who actively uses AI to research problems, improve product definition, accelerate product design, explore solutions, create and iterate interfaces, and develop prototypes.

Must have

• Strong experience delivering complex B2B or enterprise software products.
• Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand sophisticated software and infrastructure concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to take loosely defined product problems and independently turn them into well-designed solutions.
• Experience owning product initiatives from concept through to production release.
• Strong product and UI/UX judgement.
• Experience working closely with software engineering and QA teams.
• A highly autonomous, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrable use of AI tools as part of your normal product workflow.

Nice to have

• Experience with developer tools, cybersecurity, DevOps, cloud infrastructure or other technically complex software products.
• Experience designing products involving CLI or developer workflows.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
• Ability to read code or create lightweight coded prototypes.
• Experience working in a smaller product company where individuals operate across traditional role boundaries.
