Head of Smart Solution Platform

Do you want to lead the development of a software platform powering autonomous mobile robots and next-generation intralogistics solutions?

We are partnered with a robotics software company developing intelligent solutions for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), helping businesses optimise logistics, fleet operations, and warehouse automation.

They’re looking for a Head of Smart Solution Platform to own the technical direction of their platform, lead software engineering teams, and drive the development of scalable, reliable systems from architecture through to delivery.

Your Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction of a complex software platform built around distributed systems and backend services.
• Lead and develop engineering teams across backend, frontend, and data management.
• Drive technical strategy, engineering roadmaps, and end-to-end delivery.
• Design scalable, reliable systems, including APIs, databases, and event-driven architectures.
• Work closely with Product, Robotics, and senior leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.

About You

• Software engineering experience, with a strong backend or systems engineering background.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams alongside strong hands-on technical and architectural expertise.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, scalable backend architectures, and relational databases.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Rust experience is highly desirable; Python is also relevant.
• Robotics, AMRs, logistics orchestration, or industrial software experience is a plus.

Hybrid working – Lisbon, Portugal (3 days onsite per week)
