Head of Talent

About the Role

Lead the talent function at a high-growth fintech lending company as it scales its team. This player-coach role combines hands-on recruiting with building a company-owned hiring function, partnering with executives on workforce planning, and growing a recruiting team.

What You'll Do

• Build and lead an in-house sourcing and full-cycle recruiting function, including hiring and managing 3 to 6 recruiters alongside the existing team.

• Personally source and close engineering candidates while recruiting for go-to-market, product, design, and operations roles.

• Partner with executives on headcount plans, hiring budgets, compensation, leveling, and recruiting analytics.

• Report on pipeline health and time-to-fill, and establish structured interviews, calibrated scorecards, and an efficient hiring process.

• Own the transition from hiring to onboarding, recruit an HR generalist, and lay the groundwork for future HR leadership.

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of experience as a Head of Talent or talent leader, with hands-on recruiting experience and leadership scope.

• Experience building an in-house talent function at a high-growth, venture-backed startup and scaling company headcount, including doubling the organization or comparable growth.

• Strong technical recruiting skills, including sourcing and closing engineering candidates, along with experience recruiting non-technical roles.

• Experience leading recruiters and owning headcount planning, compensation frameworks, recruiting analytics, and reporting to founders or a board.

• Experience establishing structured interviews and hiring scorecards, and supporting onboarding and HR team development.

• Familiarity with ATS tools and Rippling. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $185,000 to $225,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
