Head of Talent Management

Dublin 15 | 4 days on-site, 1 day remote, with autonomy to manage own agenda

About the opportunity This is a brand new position within the People function of a growing business, created as the business works towards a long-term growth strategy backed by significant infrastructure investment across the country. The role reports to the HR Director and takes ownership of the full talent remit - strategy, process and delivery for the organisation. This role has genuine scope to build the agenda from the ground up.

What's on offer

  • Salary: c. €80,000–€100,000 DIE
  • Company car allowance
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Pension contribution

About the business

Our client operates in the materials and infrastructure sector, as part of a wider international group operating across multiple markets, employing several thousand people. The business is in a period of significant growth, guided by a long-term strategy focused on substantially increasing its scale.

The role

Reporting to the HR Director, this role owns the talent agenda for the business end-to-end, acting as the senior talent voice to the senior leadership team and their respective teams. The successful candidate will be expected to bring energy, ideas and momentum to the role - shaping the agenda proactively rather than simply executing instructions. It's a broad remit spanning strategy, framework design and delivery oversight across the full talent lifecycle.

What you'll be doing

  • Build a talent strategy framework for the business from scratch, translating the wider group's growth plans into a practical agenda
  • Design and roll out succession planning and talent review processes
  • Develop career pathing frameworks, mapping job families and progression routes within them
  • Establish a talent pipeline for key roles, assessing successor readiness and development needs
  • Identify current and future skills gaps and build strategies to close them
  • Bring a data-driven, evidence-led approach to talent decisions
  • Own leadership and management development programmes end-to-end, including several already at concept stage that need content built out and rolled out
  • Design early career programmes as part of the wider talent pipeline
  • Set delivery requirements and priorities, drawing on internal learning and development resource or external providers as needed

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years' experience, including full ownership of the entire talent lifecycle
  • A proven track record of delivering talent, learning and development initiatives, ideally within a large, multi-site organisation with established best-practice
  • Equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and getting into the detail of delivery oversight - this role needs full breadth, not a narrow specialism
  • A hands-on approach, comfortable rolling up your sleeves rather than operating at a purely strategic level
  • Strong data and analytics skills, with the ability to bring evidence and rigour to talent decisions
  • A proactive, self-starting approach - someone who brings ideas and direction
