Job Description

We are looking for a Health and Human Services Lead Financial Analyst to provide strategic financial leadership and oversight for critical child welfare programs. This position is responsible for financial planning, budget forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, grant monitoring, and compliance while leading a team of senior consultants supporting child welfare initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong financial stewardship with leadership expertise to improve program effectiveness, ensure fiscal integrity, and support data-driven decision-making. This position will be full-time contract and remote.

What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of senior consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
• Provide coaching, professional development, and performance management for team members
• Develop and maintain financial models to forecast program budgets and analyze financial performance
• Prepare detailed financial reports and present key findings, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership
• Monitor grant funding and financial activities to ensure compliance and accountability
• Conduct audits, reviews, and financial assessments to maintain program integrity
• Collaborate with child welfare program managers and stakeholders to identify financial needs and support program objectives
• Support policy analysis, program development, and implementation of financial best practices
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships within the health and human services sector
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposal development, presentations, and business growth initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance financial operations and program outcomes

What You'll Need

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related business discipline
• 10+ years of experience in financial analysis, program evaluation, financial management, or related functions
• Significant experience supporting child welfare, health and human services, or public sector programs
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, multiple projects, and complex financial initiatives
• Experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, grant management, and compliance monitoring
• Strong policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and program development experience
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to executive leadership
• Proficiency with financial and data analysis tools, including Excel, SPSS, or comparable software
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience developing and maintaining client relationships and supporting business development efforts

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Social Services, or a related field
• Experience leading financial operations specifically within child welfare programs
• Knowledge of public sector grants, funding models, and regulatory compliance requirements

Physical Demands

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
• Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office or travel to client and stakeholder meetings
• Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$110,000 per year

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role receive paid time off and may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
