As a Health & Benefits Consultant, you will support senior consultants in managing client engagements focused on population health, health benefits, and well-being strategy. This position is designed for a strong generalist who can contribute across a broad range of MercerWell services, including market scans, solution development and implementation, vendor coordination, project delivery, and data-informed evaluation of program effectiveness.

We will count on you to:

  • Support the execution of client engagements related to population health, health benefits, and well-being strategy
  • Contribute to the development of client deliverables, including presentations, reports, executive summaries, benchmarking analyses, and marketplace overviews
  • Thrive and be motivated by an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools.
  • Assist in identifying client needs and recommending practical, innovative solutions aligned to employer population health and health benefit priorities
  • Coordinate project activities across internal teams, clients, carriers, and vendor partners to help ensure timely and high-quality delivery
  • Help manage day-to-day project plans, milestones, follow-ups, and workstreams across multiple concurrent client engagements
  • Analyze and interpret information from vendors, carriers, client materials, and other sources to support strategic recommendations and implementation planning
  • Support procurement, implementation, and ongoing management of health and well-being solutions
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with carrier and vendor contacts to support administration, implementation, and service needs
  • Ensure work is completed in alignment with professional standards, including appropriate use of templates, peer review, documentation, and quality control practices
  • Monitor marketplace activity, emerging trends, and best practices in population health, health benefits, and workforce well-being, and translate insights into client-ready materials
  • Draw upon Mercer’s multidisciplinary resources and internal expertise to support integrated client solutions
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

What you need to have:

  • BA/BS, or advanced degree in psychology, social work, public health, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience supporting or delivering solutions related to population health management, health benefits, well-being, or employer health strategy
  • Foundational understanding of health and welfare benefits, population health concepts, and employer-sponsored well-being strategies
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to synthesize information and identify actionable insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create clear, polished client-facing materials
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

What makes you stand out?

  • Experience supporting complex employer clients in population health, health management, or health benefits consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders with a high degree of organization and accountability
  • Familiarity with health and well-being vendors, carriers, and market trends
  • Strong presentation, writing, and executive summary development skills
  • A proactive, client-focused approach and interest in helping organizations improve workforce health outcomes

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact on colleagues, clients, and communities.
