The HSW Coordinator supports IFSA’s worldwide teams with risk mitigation and incident management, including emergency response and other duties related to student health, safety and wellness abroad. The Coordinator works with the other members of the team to administer procedures and practices that support health , safety and wellbeing of IFSA participants globally. They will also work closely with resident staff and colleagues in Academic Programs, Student Engagement and other teams around the world . We are committed to building an inclusive and equitable organization and we look for positive-minded, adaptable people from diverse communities and cultures to help us transform our sector and change the lives of the students we serve.  In this position, your responsibilities would include: Support the student preparation process prior to study abroad; including pre-arrival advising and insurance enrollment to ensure effectiveness, accuracy and consistency in the delivery of health and safety information across all IFSA programs. Triage, evaluate and assess pre-arrival health related information, responding to routine health-related inquiries and flagging cases for escalation to Managers for support and advising. Support enrollment management of records for IFSA’s Emergency Response communication system and IFSA’s health insurance services. Assist in case management related to health, safety and security incidents, including on-site participant requirements and compliance. Assist with crisis preparation and response, sharing emergency phone coverage responsibilities and supporting internal coordination efforts. Support the team in monitoring world news events, U.S. and foreign governmental reports, and other resources for developments in regions where IFSA operates programs. Support and help to facilitate the collection, analysis and dissemination of key health and safety data and information. Understand, provide training on, and help to ensure compliance with all relevant legal statutes – including FERPA, HIPAA, ADA, Title IX, the Clery Act, and others – as they relate to IFSA and IFSA programs. Liaise with informal and contracted external expertise related to security, mental health, emergency response, medical care, and insurance as required for risk assessment and incident response. Schedule and coordinate departmental training and onboardings globally. Help to bridge cultural differences between international and U.S. perspectives on issues such as liability, student behavior, and mental health issues. Additional responsibilities as assigned. Requirements, Work Experience and Education Proficient in written and spoken English; ability to present and communicate proficiently in English; CEFR B2 or higher. A minimum of a bachelor level degree or equivalent in field of study related to international/cross-cultural communication, international studies, public health, health administration, higher education, student affairs, psychology, sociology, or related field of study. Ability to work independently, take initiative, problem solve, and self- organized to manage time and work prioritization effectively. Skilled in working and communicating with individuals navigating medical/mental health issues in an educational setting, and ability to sensitively manage related information. Strong intercultural communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and stakeholders Exceptional writing skills and ability to present information in a concise, effective way Proficiency with information technology tools and/or demonstrated ability to learn and work on similar information technology tools; including Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Microsoft Office suite, and social media platforms Legal authorization to work in a Peru, physically reside in Peru We know there are great candidates who won’t check all of these boxes, and we also know you might bring important perspectives, experiences and skills that we haven’t considered.
