As our business continues to evolve, we're looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner who is passionate about helping people thrive at work and creating environments where everyone can do their best work safely.

About the Role

Reporting to the Health & Safety Lead, you'll join a collaborative team that partners across Spark and our subsidiary businesses.

This role is about more than compliance. It's about influencing, coaching and building strong relationships that help embed a positive safety culture across a complex and dynamic organisation.

You'll work alongside leaders and teams to identify risks, improve ways of working and support initiatives that enhance the wellbeing, health and safety of our people.

What You'll Be Doing

• Partner with leaders and teams to provide practical health, safety and wellbeing advice.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across a variety of business areas.
• Coach and influence people at all levels to strengthen safety awareness and accountability.
• Help identify, assess and manage health and safety risks across operational and office-based environments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that create safer and healthier workplaces.
• Contribute to Spark's wellbeing strategy and the development of a positive, proactive safety culture.
• Apply data, insights and learning to improve safety outcomes and decision-making.
• Work in agile, collaborative ways to deliver meaningful change across the business.

What You'll Bring

We're interested in people with a blend of technical knowledge, relationship-building skills and a genuine passion for supporting others.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience and qualifications in Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Risk Management, or a related discipline within a Construction environment.
• Experience partnering with leaders and teams in a medium to large organisation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to navigate complexity and influence positive outcomes.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Additionally, experience gained in telecommunications, technology, infrastructure or operational environments would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Eligibility

Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be based in New Zealand and hold New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work visa with at least 18 months remaining.
