The Opportunity

We are working with a leading commercial law firm whose Healthcare Team is ranked Tier 1 and recognised by both Chambers and the Legal 500.

Having successfully expanded its healthcare practice across two jurisdictions over the past decade, the firm is now expanding their healthcare practice and opening a new office in Leeds. This new team will be dedicated to healthcare work across claims and healthcare regulatory and as such they are recruiting ambitious healthcare solicitors at all levels.

There is already a busy workload of complex, high-quality work for existing clients, so you would be joining an established, top-ranked healthcare practice at the beginning of a new chapter with real work from day one where there will be a clear career path and scope to fast track your career.

The Work

Complex, high-profile defendant clinical negligence matters, acting for:

• Individual healthcare practitioners
• Medical defence organisations
• Medical insurers

The caseload is busy and the quality of work is high. You will be handling substantial and technically demanding claims from the outset, working directly with senior lawyers and with institutional clients who expect the highest standards of service.

We are hiring at all levels

Partner / Legal Director - Leading the team and shaping its growth. This is an opportunity to build rather than inherit, to influence how the team is structured, who joins it, and how it develops, with the backing of an established national healthcare practice.

Senior Associate / Associate - Running your own caseload of complex defendant claims with real autonomy, supporting the team's development and supervising more junior colleagues. Because the team is new, there is clear scope to progress rather than waiting for a gap to open above you.

Solicitor / NQ - An excellent grounding in defendant healthcare work with a top-ranked team, high-quality supervision, and early exposure to substantial matters. A strong start for anyone wanting to build a career in this field.

Who we would like to hear from

Healthcare and clinical negligence experience is welcome, but it is not essential. The firm is actively open to candidates from other areas of defendant/claimant personal injury and will provide full training. They have done this successfully before. If you have run employers' or public liability work, disease claims, motor or catastrophic injury, much of what you do already transfers directly.
