Could you help households feel more confident about the choices they make for their homes, their energy use and their future?
At the Wise Group, we work alongside people and communities to create positive, lasting change. Through our Home Energy Scotland Advice Team, we help households understand how they can make their homes warmer, more energy efficient and lower carbon.
We are looking for a Home Renewables Specialist who can combine technical expertise with the ability to build trust, explain complex information clearly and help people make informed decisions.
This is a varied, practical and people-focused role. You could be visiting a customer to explore whether a heat pump is right for their home, preparing recommendations, supporting colleagues with technical queries or sharing your expertise across the wider team.
If you enjoy combining technical knowledge with meaningful conversations and practical problem-solving, this is a role where your expertise can make a real difference.
What you'll do
· Provide tailored advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy and low-carbon technologies through home visits and remote support.
· Help customers understand their options and make informed decisions about their homes.
· Translate complex technical information into clear, practical advice and recommendations.
· Build positive relationships with customers, colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
· Share your specialist knowledge by supporting and mentoring colleagues across the Home Energy Scotland Advice Team.
· Keep your technical knowledge current and contribute ideas that improve customer experience and service quality.
What you'll bring
We are looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
You will bring:
· Relevant knowledge and experience of energy efficiency, renewable energy and low-carbon technologies.
· A degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly.
· Good relationship-building, customer service and problem-solving skills.
· Confidence using technology and working independently as part of a wider team.
· A willingness to continue learning and developing your technical expertise.
Qualifications and Development
The following qualifications are required for the role:
· City & Guilds Energy Awareness Level 3.
· City & Guilds Renewable Energy in the Home, or equivalent.
· Domestic Energy Assessor qualification.
If you do not yet hold all of these qualifications, we would still like to hear from you if you can demonstrate relevant experience, potential and a commitment to completing the required training. Successful completion of the qualifications will be a requirement of the role.
A full driving licence and daily access to a car are essential. We will consider applications from people who hold a full driving licence but do not currently have access to a car.
Why join the Wise Group?
You will be joining a social enterprise with a long history of working alongside people and communities to create lasting change.
We value relationships, learning, collaboration and continuous improvement. Through Home Energy Scotland, your expertise will help households make practical decisions that improve comfort, reduce energy use and support a more sustainable future.
