Role: The Lead Health Information Management (HIM) Processor is responsible for the coordination of daily operations of medical record maintenance and completion and reporting any delinquencies to the Director of HIM & Coding. Qualifications: • High School or GED • Up to one (1) year of office experience, preferably in a medical setting • Health Information Management Certificate or HIT PRO Certificate preferred • Excellent organization and communication skills • Ability to navigate EHR easily • Knowledge of medical record format and content • Detail oriented • Ability to bend and reach overhead Competencies: • Satisfactorily complete competency requirements for this position. Job Responsibilities: • Ensures that team members are trained and follows HIM policies and procedures. • Ensures that medical record is complete before closing discharged patient records. • Obtains physician signatures for certification, and orders are obtained in a timely manner. • Reports any incomplete recertifications 3 days prior to the end of the Benefit Period. • Follows HIM policies and procedures as set by Director of Him & Coding. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. • Exhibits positive behaviors toward HIM team to ensure that work is done timely. • Scans and indexes paper documents according to a predetermined file layout while maintaining a satisfactory level of accuracy. • Request prior medical records from hospitals and physicians as indicated on the Nursing History and Physical and Team Daily Report. • Files/scans medical record documentation in a timely manner making certain that the patient name and number correlate to the chart. • Monitors the return of all documentation until the chart is complete and escalates any chart deficiencies that have not been resolved. • Performs other duties as requested. Compensation Pay Range: $16.96 - $25.24 This position requires consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment is made, as well as on-going compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
