About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our security team in Ireland. The successful candidate will help protect systems, applications, networks, and data from cybersecurity threats while supporting security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and security improvement initiatives.
This is an opportunity for a security professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working collaboratively with IT, engineering, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and investigate security alerts, incidents, and potential threats.
- Support vulnerability assessments, remediation, and security testing.
- Implement and maintain security controls across networks, systems, applications, and cloud environments.
- Participate in incident response and cybersecurity investigations.
- Assist with security risk assessments and remediation planning.
- Configure and maintain security tools such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and security monitoring platforms.
- Support identity and access management, endpoint security, and network security initiatives.
- Contribute to security policies, procedures, standards, and technical documentation.
- Work with engineering and IT teams to improve security throughout the technology lifecycle.
- Stay informed about emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and security technologies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of relevant cybersecurity or information security experience.
- Strong understanding of network, endpoint, application, and cloud security principles.
- Experience with security monitoring and incident response.
- Knowledge of vulnerability management and security assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, IAM, firewalls, or other enterprise security technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Certifications
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+, CEH, or relevant cloud-security certifications are advantageous but are not mandatory where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
