Position:

Immigration Lawyer / Associate – Sanelli Law Professional Corporation

Sanelli Law Professional Corporation is seeking a full-time Associate Lawyer with at least 2 years of direct immigration and/or refugee law experience. The position is hybrid, based out of the firm’s Toronto office at 2 Carlton Street, with a salary of $75,000–$80,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Candidates who are bringing an established book of clients or portable practice are encouraged to apply, and compensation may be negotiated.

The firm is a growing, high-volume immigration and refugee practice focused on complex matters including refugee claims, H&C applications, sponsorships, removals, Express Entry, inadmissibility matters, appeals, permanent residence, and work and study permits. The work environment is fast-paced, collaborative, client-centred, and strongly focused on social justice.

The successful candidate should be capable of independently managing a diverse and high-volume caseload. Responsibilities include representing clients before the IRB (RPD, RAD and IAD) and, where applicable, the Federal Court; preparing H&C applications, PRRAs, sponsorships, appeals, inadmissibility responses and other immigration applications; conducting legal research and drafting submissions; reviewing disclosure; communicating with clients, interpreters, organizations and government officials; and managing and billing Legal Aid Ontario certificates.

Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, have at least 2 years of immigration and/or refugee law experience, and either be on or willing to join the Legal Aid Ontario Immigration and Refugee Services roster. Strong knowledge of the IRPA, IRPR and procedural fairness principles is expected, along with excellent legal drafting, client communication and case-management skills.

The firm offers hybrid work flexibility, dental and extended health benefits, paid time off, flexible scheduling, mentorship and professional development opportunities, as well as exposure to diverse and meaningful immigration and refugee matters.

Applications should include a CV and be sent to sara@sanellilaw.com with the subject line “Associate Lawyer Application 2026 Position.” Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
