Role Type: This is a retainer / part time / freelancer job opportunity. Monthly Retainer Capacity: Up to 40 hours per month. Up to 10 unused hours may be carried forward to the immediately following month only and will expire thereafter. Total available hours in any month will therefore not exceed 50 hours. Work beyond the available monthly capacity requires prior approval. About the Role Mate Technologies is looking for a high-judgment Hiring Partner with at least 2 years of experience who can help us consistently identify, evaluate, and hire strong people across roles including Engineering, Product, Growth, Testing, Design, and Operations. Your main responsibility will be hiring very high quality candidates by evaluating them through a structured and evidence-based process, and making clear hiring recommendations. You will also help us build and maintain a long-term talent pool , including passive candidates , so that we are not starting recruitment from zero whenever a position becomes available. People Operations responsibilities will be secondary. This is a part-time/retainer role with a remote/work from home opportunity Requirements Understand the role objective, scorecard, must-have traits, preferred traits, and success criteria before starting recruitment. Proactively identify and engage passive candidates , not just active job seekers through different sourcing channels. Build and maintain a high-quality talent pool for current and future hiring needs. Efficiently filter large candidate pools without unnecessarily interviewing everyone. Ask strong follow-up questions to verify candidate claims and distinguish actual evidence from confident answers. Evaluate candidates based on evidence basis and not gut feeling. Identify strengths, weaknesses, risks, missing evidence, and areas requiring deeper evaluation. Submit structured evaluation reports with clear hiring recommendations. Use AI and automation appropriately to improve recruiting productivity without replacing human judgment. Support selected People Operations activities such as onboarding, performance-review coordination, contract tracking, employee documentation, and offboarding.
