The DCX Client Services - Home-Based Estimating Specialist will work as a full-time employee for a growing business based in the United States. You will get a chance to learn new skills as well as demonstrate skills you've learned in the past. You will be responsible for closely following the instructions and processes outlined by our client. The daily tasks will vary so it will be necessary to be very flexible in this position. Other necessary characteristics of the job include having a strong attention to detail, ability to work well with co-workers, and a desire to learn new work skills. REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES Highly proficient communicator in both spoken and written English Well-structured and well organized Outstanding organizational and time management skills Extremely detail-oriented Have a proven history of meeting deadlines WHAT YOU WILL DO Perform fundamental tasks for estimating, project management and field construction teams in a timely and accurate manner Prepare take-offs from plans Create shop drawings and submittals Screen upcoming bids for size, special requirements such as public, prevailing wage, EEO, bid bond, allowances, etc. Maintain and update project records as required Provide support to estimators and project managers as needed Develop and maintain knowledge of waterproofing, air barrier, and fireproofing products and installation techniques Performs other tasks analogous to the foregoing. Assist in providing a cost estimates by doing what is typically known as a take off of the plans for the lighting fixtures This person will be counting fixtures in project blueprints and provide that to our quotations people. Analyzing project requirements, reading blueprints, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project costs are accurately forecasted. WHAT WE LOOK FOR Education: Associate degree in Construction Management, Estimating, Engineering, or similar field and/or equivalent experience Construction experience in the field, including exposure to materials management and project operations Ability to read, understand, and estimate from plans Strong decision-making, planning, and problem-solving skills Organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Positive and professional attitude with strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communications Familiarity with building/estimating techniques and software platforms, such as ISqFt, Building Connected, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, QuickBid, Bluebeam/PDF, PlanGrid, Procore, etc. Proficient with Microsoft Office products Ability to sit for extended periods of time using a computer and reading plans/specifications.
