Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? Do you have a strong background in crisis intervention and a desire to provide vital support to those in need? Childhelp is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hotline Counselor to join our National Child Abuse Hotline team. In this role, you'll provide crucial crisis intervention, education, and resource information to help-seekers contacting us via call, text, or chat. You'll be instrumental in creating action plans using our evidence-informed practice model, addressing critical issues such as child abuse, family conflict, domestic violence, and mental health concerns. What You'll Do: Provide Counseling Services: Offer empathetic and undivided attention to help-seekers through phone calls, texts, and live chats, understanding their immediate needs and developing brief action plans. Documentation & Reporting: Accurately and completely enter relevant data into our Hotline database in a timely manner, and report information to authorities when legally required. Maintain Quality Standards: Stay current on all laws, regulations, policies, and practices related to child abuse and neglect, ensuring adherence to confidentiality, ethical guidelines, and contractual obligations. Collaborate and Grow: Attend staff meetings, complete required trainings, and actively participate in team discussions to identify effective approaches and interventions. Engage in reflective supervision to continuously improve your skills. Qualifications What We're Looking For: Education: A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required; A Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field is preferred. Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience working with family violence and/or child abuse. Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of laws and regulations surrounding physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, child abuse, neglect, and legal reporting requirements. Ability to successfully complete Hotline Counselor training and pass all competency assessments. Must meet all job expectations, including successful completion of the counselor assessment, within the first 90 days of employment.
