Right now, we're looking for an HR Business Partner to join our People team in Prague. You'll own the full employee lifecycle, from offer to exit, for 2–3 business units (around 50–70 people across employees, contractors and OSVČ), and be the partner their leads actually rely on. You'll report to the Head of Business Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run the full employee lifecycle for your units (preboarding, onboarding, probation, one-to-ones, performance, development and exits) on one standard, on time, and recorded where the company can see it.
- Make sure Day 1 works: accounts, equipment, manager, buddy and a probation plan ready, with strengths and growth goals handed over from recruiting.
- Build probation plans with criteria agreed before the start, run 7 / 30 / 60 / 90-day check-ins, and close every probation with a written, evidence-based recommendation prepared with the hiring manager.
- Partner with BU leads through bi-weekly performance calls, and coach them to run their own one-to-ones, give feedback, write performance input and hold difficult conversations themselves.
- Support the performance cycle: timely inputs, calibration, ratings that can be explained to the person, IDPs with goals that can be assessed, and PIP design and tracking.
- Spot retention risks, overload and conflict early, and bring them to leadership while there is still a decision to make.
- Handle Czech employment matters: contracts and annexes under the Labour Code, DPP and DPČ, OSVČ engagement, working time, leave, benefits, and payroll input on the cut-off date.
- Plan relocation for new hires (residence and work permits, Employee Card, temporary protection, registration and health insurance) backwards from the start date.
- Run clean exits: offboarding, final settlement on Czech timing, exit interviews, and analysis of exit reasons as patterns.
- Keep people data accurate in BambooHR (and in our in-house HRM once it launches), and deliver weekly status updates, monthly people reports and quarterly unit reviews.
- Own your units' documentation in Confluence: org structure, role descriptions, competencies and the unit handbook.
Requirements:
- 3+ years as an HR Business Partner, People Partner or HR Generalist, covering the full lifecycle rather than one specialism.
- Practical command of the Czech Labour Code, including contract types, probation and notice, working time, leave, DPP and DPČ.
- Experience running probation and performance cycles end to end, and handling exits and difficult conversations with documentation that holds up.
- Experience partnering with senior managers and holding them to commitments without formal authority.
- Hands-on HRIS experience (BambooHR or similar) and comfort producing people reporting from it.
- Ukrainian or Russian plus English at a working level, in writing as well as speech.
- Comfort working with a distributed team and a manager in another time zone.
- Strong prioritisation under high case volume, sound judgment, and a high standard of confidentiality.
Nice to have:
- Experience with relocation to Czechia: Employee Card, temporary protection, residence registration.
- Experience writing handbooks or process documentation in Confluence.
- Czech at B2 or above.
- Familiarity with Jira, Breezy ATS, Power BI or Grain.
What We Offer:
- Hybrid job in Prague or remote
- Competitive compensation
- Flexible working hours: we start our operation day between 9:00 - 11:00 CET
- All necessary equipment
- Paid vacation and sick leaves
- Educational support: reimbursement of certification, training, and a knowledge-sharing atmosphere
