Intro

As an HR Business Partner at Kyocera in Schiphol-Rijk, you will build a solid HR foundation and help managers guide their teams through change. You’ll join a close-knit team of five HR professionals, working together to support employees and managers across the organisation.

Your challenge

Here is plenty to do at Kyocera. Day-to-day operations call for clear agreements, thoughtful support and processes that work. At the same time, there is room to strengthen the HR foundation and support managers as the organisation continues to develop. You will bring structure, encourage open discussions about decisions and ensure that plans are put into practice.

  • Help managers translate organisational changes into clear agreements and practical support for their teams;
  • manage sickness absence cases with care and ensure that managers take responsibility for absence management and return-to-work processes;
  • strengthen managers’ approach to performance, development and employee matters;
  • make HR processes simpler and more consistent, identifying opportunities for optimisation and automation in AFAS;
  • translate Dutch employment laws and regulations into practical solutions for managers and employees.

About the role

You will be based at the EMEA headquarters in Schiphol-Rijk and report to the HR Manager. As an all-round HR Business Partner, you will connect day-to-day operations with longer-term improvements. One moment, you might be discussing a sickness absence case with a manager; the next, you will be improving a process. You take ownership, monitor progress and keep the people using those processes in mind.

You will join a team of five HR professionals who work closely together to support employees and managers across the organisation. Part of the EMEA headquarters is based in Germany, where some of the GMs and managers are located. You will collaborate with them regularly. You will also work with employees and leaders in an international environment with Japanese senior leaders. This requires clear communication and sensitivity to different ways of working. You are comfortable challenging managers and thoughtful about how you deliver your message. To support collaboration with Germany, you will travel there for approximately two days once a month.

Where you will work

You will join the EMEA headquarters of Kyocera Document Solutions in Schiphol-Rijk, where an international working environment meets a Japanese corporate heritage. It offers you the opportunity to help build the HR function and make a difference in everyday operations.

What you will receive

Kyocera offers a broad role with room to implement improvements and develop your skills. You will have responsibility and the opportunity to make a visible contribution to building the HR function. Over time, opportunities to progress within the HR organisation may arise.

  • A gross annual salary of €60,000–€85,000, including a thirteenth-month salary payment and 8% holiday allowance, based on a full-time working week of 37.5 hours;
  • a 20% bonus scheme: 10% linked to individual performance and 10% to company performance;
  • at least 29 days of annual leave and a fully employer-funded pension scheme;
  • hybrid working, a travel allowance and a net monthly internet allowance of €40;
  • a budget of up to €500 to set up your home workspace after completing your probationary period.

What will help you succeed

You enjoy working in an organisation where there is still plenty to build. You can navigate uncertainty and a lack of structure while maintaining a careful approach. You recognise what is needed, set priorities and take initiative. You combine strong HR expertise with patience: you explain, ask questions and hold people accountable for their commitments.

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least seven years of relevant HR experience, for example as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist;
  • you have a strong understanding of Dutch employment law and can demonstrate how you apply it in practice;
  • you have proven experience independently managing sickness absence cases and return-to-work processes;
  • you combine advice with hands-on delivery and have experience in organisational change and improving HR processes;
  • you communicate fluently in English and build trust with a range of stakeholders, including when delivering difficult messages.

Experience with AFAS, the German market or the German language is an advantage, as is experience working within a Japanese organisation.
