Our client is a luxury organic beauty brand known for its high-performance, certified organic skincare and makeup products. As the company continues to grow, our client is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to support the full employee lifecycle and help ensure smooth, organized, and effective people operations.
Role Overview
The HR Generalist will support day-to-day HR operations across employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, HR administration, performance management, compliance, benefits, and recruitment coordination.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive HR professional who can operate independently, maintain confidentiality, and serve as a reliable resource for both employees and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Administration
Manage day-to-day HR operations and employee lifecycle processes.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth employee experience.
Prepare employment-related documents, letters, forms, and HR communications.
Maintain and update company policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
Track employee changes including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and leave.
Support HR reporting and maintain accurate people-related data.
Employee Relations
Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions, policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
Support managers with employee relations matters and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
Assist with conflict resolution and employee issue management.
Help promote a positive, professional, and inclusive workplace culture.
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Coordinate recruitment activities and interview scheduling as needed.
Partner with hiring managers to support job postings, candidate coordination, and offer processes.
Assist with background checks, references, and pre-employment documentation.
Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure new hires have the necessary documentation, systems access, and resources.
Help ensure a consistent and positive onboarding experience.
Benefits & Payroll Support
Support the administration of employee benefits and serve as a resource for employee questions.
Coordinate with payroll providers and internal finance teams to ensure employee information is accurate.
Assist with payroll-related changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation updates, and deductions.
Track PTO, leave, and other employee time-off information.
Help resolve employee payroll and benefits questions.
Performance Management
Support the performance review and evaluation process.
Help managers prepare for performance reviews and maintain appropriate documentation.
Track performance review timelines and follow up with managers and employees.
Assist with performance improvement processes when needed.
Compliance
Help ensure HR practices comply with applicable employment laws and regulations.
Maintain required employee documentation and records.
Support compliance audits and HR reporting requirements.
Stay informed about relevant changes in employment regulations and HR best practices.
HR Projects & Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee experiences.
Help develop and implement HR initiatives and programs.
Support employee engagement, culture, and team-building initiatives.
Assist with HR projects and other people-related initiatives as the company grows.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, People Operations, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of core HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, benefits, payroll support, and HR administration.
Experience supporting employees throughout the full employee lifecycle.
Strong understanding of HR policies and employment practices.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to HR operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with a DTC, e-commerce, CPG, beauty, fashion, or consumer brand.
Experience supporting a growing or distributed/remote workforce.
Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto, Workday, or similar systems.
Experience supporting benefits administration and payroll processes.
Experience with employee engagement and performance management programs.
Familiarity with U.S. employment practices and compliance requirements.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
