At Vistra | iiPay, we are looking for an experienced HR Manager, Payroll & Benefits to lead complex payroll operations and support the continued growth and transformation of our payroll services in Mexico and across Latin America. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services for multiple clients, legal entities, payroll frequencies, and employee populations. You will also act as a champion of change, driving digitalization, process improvement, stronger governance, and operational excellence. This opportunity is ideal for a strong people leader who combines deep payroll expertise, TRESS knowledge, governance, client service, and emotional intelligence. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, multinational environment and collaborating with local, regional, and global stakeholders. What you will do Payroll operations and compliance Lead the day-to-day operations of the Mexico payroll team, supporting multiple clients, legal entities, and employee populations. Oversee the complete payroll lifecycle, including weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly payroll cycles. Ensure payrolls are processed accurately, compliantly, and within established calendars and statutory deadlines. Review and approve payroll calculations, reconciliations, reports, system changes, and final payroll results. Oversee complex payroll calculations, taxes, statutory contributions, deductions, benefits-related payroll inputs, and year-end processes. Ensure compliance with Mexican payroll, tax, social security, labor, data privacy, and internal governance requirements. Maintain the integrity of payroll master data and promote high standards of payroll data quality. Coordinate payroll reporting for Finance, Accounting, statutory filings, internal controls, and government requirements. Serve as a senior subject matter expert for payroll legislation, compliance, controls, and complex payroll inquiries. Support payroll operations for both blue-collar and white-collar employee populations. People leadership Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of payroll professionals. Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, and development plans for team members. Promote accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and a strong client-service mindset. Build team capabilities to support operational growth, new client implementations, and increasingly complex payroll requirements. Lead with empathy and emotional intelligence, particularly during periods of change, high workload, or operational pressure. Client and stakeholder management Act as a trusted partner for clients and local, regional, and global stakeholders. Build strong relationships with HR, Finance, Accounting, Payroll Technology, Compliance, Operations, and external service providers. Ensure service delivery is aligned with contractual commitments, SLAs, KPIs, quality standards, and payroll governance requirements. Communicate payroll matters, operational risks, service issues, and remediation plans clearly and confidently. Manage escalations and drive timely resolution of critical payroll issues. Partner with payroll vendors and technology providers to ensure reliable and effective service delivery. Transformation and operational excellence Drive payroll digitalization, automation, and process optimization initiatives. Lead change management activities and act as a credible influencer during payroll transformation. Identify operational risks, control gaps, recurring issues, and opportunities for increased efficiency. Develop and implement standardized payroll processes, controls, documentation, and governance practices. Monitor payroll service levels and use operational data to improve accuracy, timeliness, productivity, and client satisfaction. Support payroll system implementations, configurations, migrations, integrations, and client onboarding. Lead TRESS-related implementations and configuration activities, including payroll, time and attendance, shifts, calendars, interfaces, and payroll rules. Participate in regional and global payroll projects. Contribute to the long-term payroll strategy, technology roadmap, and future operating model. Travel domestically or internationally on an occasional basis, when business needs require it. What will make you successful Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. At least five years of experience leading payroll teams within a multinational, shared services, payroll outsourcing, or managed payroll services environment. At least five years of hands-on experience working with TRESS Payroll System solutions. Advanced knowledge of TRESS payroll implementation, configuration, and ongoing operational support. Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll operations in high-volume and multi-entity environments. Strong experience with various payroll frequencies, including weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly payrolls. Solid knowledge of Mexican payroll taxes, social security obligations, statutory compliance, payroll controls, and regulatory requirements. Experience supporting blue-collar and white-collar payroll populations. Experience managing payroll operations across multiple clients or legal entities. Advanced English proficiency, both spoken and written. Strong knowledge of payroll accounting, reporting, reconciliations, funding, and internal controls. Experience working with enterprise payroll, HR, and time-and-attendance systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting. Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams. Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage and influence senior leaders. Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to combine logical decision-making with empathy and emotional intelligence. Preferred qualifications Experience in payroll outsourcing, professional services, or a managed payroll services model. Experience supporting regional or multi-country payroll operations. Experience working in a Shared Services or governance-driven HR Services environment. Experience leading payroll implementations, client transitions, migrations, or transformation programs. Knowledge of SLA and KPI management, service governance, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience coordinating payroll vendors and third-party service providers. Formal process improvement experience or certification. Payroll certification or other relevant professional qualifications.
