About SCRYPT

SCRYPT is where money moves: across borders and currencies, on-chain and off. One platform brings together payments, trading, custody and asset management, connecting stablecoin and fiat rails for institutions that move money at scale. Clients are supported by a human desk that runs 24/7.

SCRYPT is a multi-jurisdictional licensed platform headquartered in Switzerland. Licensing and entity information: scrypt.swiss/regulatory.

About the Role

SCRYPT is hiring an HR Specialist to build and run the group's HR function as a standalone operator. Reporting to the Group COO, you will own the full employment lifecycle across multiple entities and jurisdictions - from contracts and payroll to social insurance, Employer of Record management, performance documentation and policy. This is not a support role. You carry the function.

You are the whole HR function. You set it up, you run it, you own the outcome.

Scope covers Swiss entities (SCRYPT Digital Trading AG, SCRYPT Digital Hodling AG, SCRYPT Digital Investments AG), international entities (Malta, UK, Mauritius), and a population of circa 45+ individuals across all engagement types, growing through the current funding round.

The Bar

Small team, senior bar, AI-native by default. We hire builders who ship, not managers who maintain. One great hire beats three average ones, so we hold the bar even when the seat is empty. Ownership from week one. Velocity from day one. If you need a long runway before you contribute, this isn't the role.

Key Responsabilities

  • Draft, issue and version-control employment contracts, addenda, offer letters, role changes, references and termination documentation on the group templates, and own probation tracking, confirmation letters and the associated manager conversations

  • Run onboarding and offboarding end to end contracts, access requests with Security and IT, equipment, first-day plan, exit checklist, final settlement and handover evidence

  • Own the monthly Swiss payroll cycle with the external provider: instructions, variances, approvals, reconciliation and payslip distribution

  • Manage AHV/IV/EO, ALV, BVG pension, accident insurance and family allowance registrations, changes and year-end declarations

  • Manage work and residence permit applications, renewals and cantonal correspondence, as well as cross-border and remote-working positions, including social security determinations and posted worker matters

  • Own the Employer of Record relationships: onboarding, contract terms, invoice verification, service issues and offboarding; maintain the contractor register, ensure correct classification and flag misclassification risk before it becomes a finding

  • Administer the group Personal Objective Plan cycle: template issue, completion tracking, review dates, calibration logistics and file retention, as well as the contractor Service Objectives Schedule variant

  • Hold department heads to the cycle dates. This includes chasing people more senior than you

  • Maintain the employee share option register, grant documentation, vesting schedules and leaver treatment records; prepare salary benchmarking data and headcount cost inputs for budget and investor reporting

  • Build and maintain the employee handbook and HR policy set: leave, absence, remote working, expenses, conduct, grievance and disciplinary; own absence, holiday and time-tracking records and the reporting off the back of them

  • Own employee data protection under the Swiss FADP and the GDPR: retention, access and processing records, and provide personnel evidence for external audit, regulatory filings and fit-and-proper submissions

  • Run recruitment operations for approved roles: job descriptions, posting, agency management, scheduling, candidate communication and offer preparation. Hiring decisions sit with the hiring manager and the COO

Job Requirements

  • Minimum five years in HR generalist or HR operations roles, including at least two running a standalone function with no HR team around you

  • Swiss employment law, payroll, social insurance and permit experience, hands-on rather than supervisory

  • Fluent written and spoken English. This is the company working language and all documentation is issued in English

  • Able to work remotely with substantial overlap with Central European Time

  • Evidence of building HR infrastructure from a low base: policies, files, processes and systems

  • Comfortable operating without precedent, escalating early and deciding within a clear mandate

  • Nice to Have: Fluent or professional German for authorities, insurers and cantonal correspondence. Experience in financial services, fintech or another regulated environment, exposure to multi-entity and cross-border employment, Employer of Record provider management, and scale-up experience through a funding round

Why choose SCRYPT

  • Real ownership of a function - not a slot in someone else’s org chart

  • A team where AI tooling is native, not a “transformation initiative”

  • Direct access to founders, board, and clients. Flat hierarchy, no middle layers

  • Meaningful equity in a Series A institutional crypto company building toward unicorn scale

  • Swiss-anchored, globally operating - regulatory rigor where it matters, volume where it counts

Next Steps

Send your CV and a short paragraph describing a time you built or rebuilt an HR function from a low base - what you inherited, what you put in place, and how long it took.
