HRIS & Leave Administration Specialist
Location: Bloomfield Hills, MI (Hybrid Available)
Department: Human Resources

About the Role
ARCH is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused HRIS & Leave Administration Specialist to support our growing multi-site manufacturing organization. This role combines HR technology expertise with leave administration and employee support, serving as a key resource for HR teams, managers, and employees across the company.
The ideal candidate will have experience administering HR systems, maintaining employee data integrity, supporting reporting and analytics, and managing employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, Short-Term Disability, and state-specific leave programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance, enhancing the employee experience, and driving operational excellence within Human Resources.
Essential Responsibilities
HRIS Administration
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the company's HRIS and workforce management systems.
- Maintain employee records and organizational data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Troubleshoot HRIS issues and partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve system concerns.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute standard and ad hoc HR reports and analytics.
- Support system implementations, upgrades, testing, and process improvements.
- Create and maintain HRIS documentation, workflows, and user guides.
- Train HR and business leaders on HRIS functionality and best practices.
Leave Administration
- Administer all employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation coordination, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, military leave, and state-specific leave requirements.
- Manage leave cases from initial request through return-to-work.
- Review documentation and determine eligibility based on company policies and applicable laws.
- Coordinate with employees, managers, healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators.
- Maintain accurate leave records and ensure timely communication throughout the leave process.
- Monitor intermittent leave usage and provide reporting as needed.
- Support accommodation requests and the interactive process in partnership with HR leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave regulations.
HR Operations Support
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR systems, benefits, and leave programs.
- Assist with benefit enrollment events, life event processing, and audits.
- Support annual HR initiatives, including open enrollment, and compliance reporting.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve service delivery.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of HRIS, HR operations, leave administration, or related HR experience.
- Experience administering HRIS platforms such as UKG, Workday, ADP, Oracle, SuccessFactors, or similar systems.
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, STD/LTD, and leave administration practices.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with HR reporting and analytics.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
Preferred
- Experience with UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management.
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing organizations.
- Experience with HR system implementations and data conversions.
- Knowledge of state leave programs and multi-state employment practices.
