Position Summary: Key Responsibilities Client Delivery & HR Advisory Support • Support multiple HCA client engagements simultaneously, taking ownership of assigned workstreams, deadlines, documentation, and follow-up. • Participate in client discovery, onboarding, status meetings, and working sessions; prepare agendas, notes, action items, and follow-up materials as needed. • Conduct HR research and translate findings into practical, business-focused guidance for client review. • Draft and update employee handbooks, workplace policies, manager tools, job descriptions, HR procedures, employee communications, and other client-facing materials. • Support HR compliance and risk assessments, including review of policies, practices, employee files, onboarding documentation, and multi-state requirements. • Assist with employee relations, performance management, leave and accommodation, wage-and-hour, classification, documentation, and other day-to-day HR matters under appropriate senior guidance. • Support compensation benchmarking, recruiting and talent acquisition, workforce planning, HR process improvement, and other HCA projects as assigned. • Use HCA research and technology resources, including compliance, handbook, compensation, and HR technology platforms, to support accurate and timely client work. • Prepare polished client deliverables and ensure work is complete, organized, well-supported, and ready for senior review. HR Foundations & Workforce Process Support • Help clients strengthen core HR infrastructure through consistent policies, documentation, processes, and manager practices. • Support regulatory monitoring and research across federal, state, and local employment requirements. • Assist with employee handbook and policy development, HR file audits, new-hire process reviews, and foundational compliance projects. • Develop practical tools that help managers execute HR responsibilities consistently, including checklists, templates, guides, and documentation resources. • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or emerging workforce needs and elevate them to HCA leadership for further advisory support. Practice Growth, Marketing & Events • Support HCA's LinkedIn presence by helping coordinate content calendars, draft or refine HR-focused content, prepare posts for review, and assist with publishing workflows. • Assist with HCA newsletters, articles, webinars, presentations, client education materials, and other thought-leadership initiatives. • Support conferences, SHRM events, sponsorships, networking activities, speaking engagements, and other HCA marketing or business-development events. • Help maintain marketing materials, proposal content, client-facing resources, and HCA service information. • Collaborate with Sorren's marketing professionals to help ensure HCA content and activities are timely, professional, brand-aligned, and relevant to target audiences. Practice Operations & Collaboration • Maintain organized client files, project trackers, deliverable schedules, research documentation, and engagement records. • Track assigned project progress and communicate risks, delays, questions, or scope concerns promptly. • Accurately record billable time and support project and billing documentation in accordance with practice expectations. • Collaborate effectively with HCA leadership and professionals across Sorren's advisory, accounting, tax, assurance, marketing, and operational teams. • Contribute ideas, templates, process improvements, and lessons learned that improve HCA efficiency, consistency, and client experience. Qualifications • Approximately 3-5 years of practical HR, people operations, recruiting, employee relations, compliance, or related experience preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered. • Working knowledge of core HR practices and employment-related issues, with the ability and willingness to research unfamiliar topics. • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Leadership, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required. • Current PHR, SHRM-CP, or comparable HR certification is preferred. Candidates without a certification must demonstrate a willingness to pursue an appropriate HR credential in the near future. • Strong written communication skills and the ability to create clear, professional client-facing materials. • Comfort working directly with clients, managers, and business leaders in a professional environment. • Strong organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote environment. • Sound judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential employee and client information. • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and comfort learning new HR, compliance, project-management, marketing, and collaboration technologies. • Experience with LinkedIn, Canva, newsletters, social media, event coordination, or professional-services marketing is a plus. Success in This Role Success will be demonstrated through accurate and timely client work, strong follow-through, growing HR and consulting capability, effective collaboration, professional client interactions, reliable project execution, and meaningful contributions to HCA practice growth and visibility. Professional Development & Career Path Sorren HCA is building a scalable national advisory practice. This position offers the opportunity to broaden HR expertise, gain direct client consulting experience, develop an HR credential, and grow into increasingly independent advisory responsibilities. Strong performers may progress toward Manager-level or other specialized HCA roles as the practice evolves. Additional Expectations • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment in all client and employee matters. • Remain current on evolving HR practices and employment requirements relevant to assigned client work. • Represent Sorren and HCA professionally in client meetings, virtual settings, events, and public-facing activities. • Perform other duties and special projects consistent with the scope and level of the position as business needs evolve. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements This is a remote position requiring regular use of a computer, telephone, video conferencing, and other collaboration technology. The role may require extended periods of sitting and computer work, as well as occasional travel for client meetings, firm events, conferences, or team activities.
