Human Resources Business Partner
REMOTE | FULL-TIMEBase salary: $105,000 - $115,000
FST is looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner who enjoys working directly with leaders, solving problems, and staying close to the business. This is a fully remote role supporting employees and leaders across multiple locations and states.
Our HR Business Partner will work closely with leaders to address employee issues, strengthen teams, manage performance concerns, and make thoughtful people decisions. The right person will bring solid employee relations experience, sound judgment, and the confidence to handle difficult situations professionally.
What You'll Do
- Partner with leaders on employee relations, performance management, workforce needs, recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and retention.
- Coach managers through performance and conduct issues and help ensure documentation is clear, timely, and appropriate.
- Conduct objective workplace investigations and make practical recommendations based on the facts, company policy, and applicable requirements.
- Support a geographically dispersed workforce and help leaders understand how company policies and employment requirements apply across multiple states.
- Work closely with operations, payroll, benefits, recruiting, safety, and the broader HR team to resolve employee issues and support business needs.
- Partner with the Safety Leader to support safety initiatives, including employee communication, training follow-up, incident and near-miss documentation, corrective action tracking, and reinforcement of safety expectations. Help ensure leaders and employees understand their responsibilities and that concerns are escalated appropriately.
- Use HR systems, including ADP or similar platforms, to maintain accurate records and support recruiting, onboarding, employee transactions, reporting, and talent processes.
What We're Looking For
- At least five years of progressive human resources experience, including hands-on experience advising managers and handling employee relations matters.
- Current SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification. Certification is required for this position.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and advising leaders on performance management, corrective action, documentation, and employee separations.
- Experience supporting employees in multiple states and a solid working knowledge of federal employment requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to establish credibility with employees and senior leaders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, stay accessible during established business hours, participate actively in video meetings, and manage competing priorities without extensive direction.
- Occasional travel based on business needs.
Experience That Will Help You Succeed
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS.
- Experience in engineering, construction, commissioning, technical services, life sciences, semiconductor, manufacturing, or another project-oriented business.
- Experience supporting remote and geographically dispersed employees.
