JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Human Resources Manager DEPARTMENT: Human Resources DATE: August 2026 FLSA STATUS: Exempt JOB PURPOSE The Human Resources Manager is a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of Human Resources programs and operations across BayWa r.e. Solar Systems. Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, this role provides hands-on support across multi-state payroll, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, compliance, HRIS administration, learning and development, and the employee lifecycle. The HR Manager works closely with employees and leaders to provide practical HR guidance, ensure consistent application of Company policies and practices, and maintain efficient and compliant HR operations. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, hands-on Human Resources professional with strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while building trusted relationships across the organization. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Human Resources Partnership Partner with the Vice President, Human Resources to execute Human Resources priorities and support the Company's people strategy. Serve as a trusted HR resource to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and employment practices. Coach and support managers through employee performance, corrective action, conflict resolution, and employee development matters. Promote consistent HR practices and a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture. Human Resources Operations & Payroll Manage the day-to-day execution of Human Resources operations, including end-to-end multi-state payroll, HRIS administration, employee records, reporting, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely, including regular payroll, bonuses, commissions, deductions, benefits, final pay, and other payroll-related transactions. Maintain accurate employee data and records within the Company's HRIS and related systems. Develop and improve Human Resources processes, workflows, documentation, reporting, and internal controls. Prepare and maintain Human Resources metrics and reports to identify trends and support business decisions. Employee Relations & Compliance Manage employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, performance management, corrective actions, and conflict resolution. Partner with the Vice President, Human Resources on complex or sensitive employee relations matters. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain Human Resources policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook and assist with implementing changes resulting from new or changing employment requirements. Support required employment-related reporting, audits, and compliance activities. Benefits & Leave Administration Administer employee benefit programs, retirement plans, annual Open Enrollment, and employee benefit communications. Manage employee leaves, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and applicable state leave programs. Serve as a resource to employees regarding benefits, leave, and related Human Resources programs. Partner with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators to resolve issues and support effective and compliant administration of benefit programs. Learning & Development Coordinate and support new hire onboarding and orientation in partnership with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers. Manage learning platforms, compliance training, and employee development programs. Track required training and ensure appropriate completion and documentation. Partner with leaders and the Vice President, Human Resources to identify employee and leadership development needs. Talent Acquisition & Employee Lifecycle Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support workforce planning, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. Coordinate employee changes, including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves, and separations. Support a positive and consistent candidate, new hire, and employee experience. Human Resources Programs & Initiatives Support Company-wide Human Resources programs, including performance management, compensation administration, employee engagement, organizational changes, and policy implementation. Assist with annual Human Resources cycles and initiatives, including performance reviews, compensation changes, benefits enrollment, employee surveys, and compliance requirements. Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve Human Resources processes, employee experience, and operational efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and Human Resources best practices. Hands-on experience with payroll, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, HRIS administration, and compliance. Ability to independently manage day-to-day Human Resources operations while appropriately escalating complex or sensitive matters. Sound judgment and the ability to balance employee needs, compliance requirements, and business objectives. Excellent interpersonal, communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to establish trusted relationships with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee and Company information. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms; BambooHR experience preferred. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required. Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive Human Resources experience. Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end multi-state payroll. Significant experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, leave administration, benefits administration, and employment law compliance. Experience administering Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS); BambooHR experience preferred. Experience supporting organizational change, performance management, employee development, and process improvement. Experience working in a multi-state organization preferred. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job there will be: Regularly required to sit, talk, use repetitive motion, type, and hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Willingness to travel up to 5-10% to support business meetings, leadership offsites, training, and Company events.
