We’re partnering with a leading international law firm to identify an experienced Human Resources Manager to support its San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who understands the pace, discretion, and complexity of a sophisticated professional services environment and wants to take ownership of HR operations across two important California offices.


📍 San Francisco, CA

💰 $130,000–$160,000

🏢 Hybrid | 3 days in office / 2 remote

✈️ Regular travel to a nearby Silicon Valley office as needed


The Human Resources Manager will serve as a trusted partner to local office leadership while working closely with the firm’s broader HR organization. The role will have meaningful responsibility across employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compliance, recruiting, immigration coordination, and day-to-day HR administration.


Key areas of responsibility include:

• Managing employee relations and performance management matters

• Overseeing onboarding and employee lifecycle processes

• Ensuring compliance with California employment laws and HR requirements

• Maintaining confidential personnel records and employment documentation

• Coordinating I-9, visa, and immigration-related tracking

• Partnering with payroll and office leadership on employee transitions and terminations

• Supporting staff recruiting and screening

• Managing and developing members of the local HR team

• Supporting firmwide HR initiatives and special projects


We’re particularly interested in professionals with:

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience within a large organization

• Strong knowledge of California employment laws and regulations

• Experience within a law firm or professional services environment preferred

• Familiarity with Workday

• Employee relations and performance management experience

• Strong judgment and the ability to handle highly confidential matters

• Prior experience supervising or developing HR staff
