Human Resources Senior Specialist - URS
FT / PT Status – Full-Time
Benefits Eligibility – This position is eligible for a full benefits package.
Salary – $31.00 - $40.00 Hourly Wage

Key Responsibilities
- HRIS Data Integrity & Error Resolution: Research, audit, and correct file upload errors originating between the State’s HRIS system (Vantage) and Utah Retirement Systems. Ensure precise entry and updates in the database.
- URS Liaison & Strategic Partnering: Act as the core DHRM liaison to URS, fostering a collaborative partnership to identify root causes of data mismatches and establish long-term process improvements.
- Employee Case Management: Directly assist state employees and agencies in troubleshooting and resolving individual URS, pension, and benefit-related issues with empathy and precision.
- Process Enhancement: Continuously evaluate current file-transfer workflows and operational procedures to reduce error rates, enhance compliance, and streamline data sharing.
- Subject Matter Expertise & Consultation: Provide clear guidance to internal stakeholders, agency leaders, and HR team members regarding pension data impacts and benefit standards.
Qualifications
- Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical abilities with strong attention to detail to catch, track, and resolve complex data discrepancies.
- Regulatory & Benefits Knowledge: Practical understanding of general employee benefits, compliance standards, and core pension/retirement concepts.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to learn specialized HRIS platforms quickly (experience with CGI/Vantage is not required—full training will be provided).
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to handle sensitive employee cases, manage inter-agency dynamics, and present findings effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with Utah Retirement Systems (URS) rules and processes.
- Hands-on experience with payroll operations or pension administration.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources or Employee Benefits.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) or a degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
