Job Description This is a remote position. Location: Remote Engagement Type: Project-based Assignment; B2B Contract Duration: 6 months with possible extension Timezone: CET ± 3 hours Be part of our Global Engineering Network! Our client is seeking an experienced IBM Hardware Consultant with strong expertise across IBM Power Systems, System z mainframes, and enterprise storage solutions. This role combines hands‑on engineering with client‑facing consultancy, requiring both technical delivery and strategic advisory to modernize enterprise infrastructure Key Deliverables Deploy and optimize IBM Power Systems, System z, and enterprise storage solutions. Lead technical workshops, discovery sessions, and infrastructure design engagements. Define scalable, secure, and maintainable IBM hardware architectures. Establish governance, security, compliance, and operational best practices. Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams. Review solution designs, performance strategies, and deployment plans. Design integrations with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V), cloud services (Azure, AWS), and enterprise systems. Develop architecture standards, design patterns, and technical documentation. Support modernization initiatives, including hybrid cloud adoption and lifecycle management. Mentor engineers and promote infrastructure best practices. Requirements 5+ years of experience with IBM hardware (Power Systems, System z, enterprise storage). Strong hands‑on engineering and consultancy experience within the last 12 months. Proven track record designing and delivering enterprise IBM infrastructure solutions. Strong expertise in: IBM Power Systems & System z Enterprise storage (FlashSystem, DS8000) Virtualization (PowerVM, VMware, Hyper‑V) Cloud integration (Azure, AWS) Networking and security governance Experience leading infrastructure modernization and hybrid cloud projects. Strong understanding of governance, compliance, performance optimization, and lifecycle management. IBM certifications (IBM Certified Specialist, IBM Power Systems Technical Expert) or cloud certifications are highly desirable. Experience working within consulting, professional services, or enterprise environments is an advantage. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and technical leadership skills.
